I booked a couples massage - UPDATE at bottom

DH has NEVER gotten a massage and IS NOT a massage kinda guy! He wouldn't even get one on our honeymoon. Some of you may remember that I posted about couples massages in the past ( a while ago...maybe no one remembers)!

Anyways, DH is BEYOND STRESSED & TENSE. Between his dad's passing, work, school, family-related stress, tons of travel, working out, etc....

Despite my better judgement, I booked a couples massage for tonight at The Setai Club downtown!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got a 500 AMEX gift card from work and althought there are many other items I would have liked to indulge in I thought it was time to take charge and get his @ss on a massage table.

Cross your fingers this goes well for us!

ETA: I just sent a text 'We are busy between 6:15 and 7:15 tonight. No questions asked. Thank you in advance for your compliance.' hahahahah

Update: So he got a kick out of my mystery text and was all into the surprise.....UNTIL....until we both got home from work and he started asking questions and I spilled the beans.

So ya, lets just say that my mom and I will be enjoying a romantic massage and the complimentary champange and truffles. I'm bringing her in a bathing suit so we can sit in the thermal pools before and after.

Plan = FAIL

Although, I am super duper excited that my mom can join...I love one on one time with her!

I'm sure he'll love it! DH was skeptical about it until he finally got a professional one and now he loves getting them. We always treat ourselves when we're on vacation...

One thing to consider: my DH said he would never want a male massuese, so you may want to request a female for him in advance.

Yikes. Good luck! While its a nice gesture, my husband would absolutely hate it. I remember your post because you and I agreed how Kieran and Bryan are the same when it comes to that .. Thoughtful gift though! Lucky man

At least you get to spend time with your mom!

Next time, get some massage oils and something skimpy and give him a massage yourself. I *guarantee* he won't turn that down!

REALLY funny story about the skimpy outfit and personal massage idea!!

Thing is, my man needs a professional service! The champagne and truffles are included in the couples package. He needs a no frill (although the Setai is pretty luxe) professional deep tissue situation. He is so tense that his shoulders are like pinned up by his ears....
