I can't believe DH said this...
that he wished we got married in a church instead of the reception site
There was never any discussion about getting married in a church, religion plays no part in our life. If I mentioned a church wedding (which was not important to me at all) he would say No way, lightening would stike if I went in a church.
Now here he is after 18 months of planning and 10 months of being married he sort of wished we had a church wedding.
Part of me feels bad since he must have wanted this but how am I supposed to know if he doesn't say anything. Part me is angry if something was important to him, why not say something?

You can always do a renewal ceremony in a church. Did he say why the change of heart all of a sudden??

Re: I can't believe DH said this...
Tell him your crystal ball was at the shop, so you had no idea he felt that way.
Shamma is right. If you both want to, you can always have a vow renewal in church.

I know we can do that. I guess I think it's weird that after all this time he says he wished we had a church wedding.

I also think a renewal will be in order in your future.I know how you feel because my DH pulled a similar stunt but during the wedding planning in reverse....drove me nuts.

I can see how frustrated you must be. If that were me, I'd feel bad too, but more angry than anything! I agree - he should have spoken up if that's what he wanted. Niecey has a good idea though!

Re: I can't believe DH said this...
Talking about a renewal is how it came up so that's already in the works. Believe it or not DH misses wedding planning.
Teri, I am more angry.
I almost feel like he gave up something for the wedding that in all honesty was not too important to me. As long as we got married that day, I didnt care if it was in a church, the reception hall, the beach, etc. Oh, well we cant re-do it. If he wants a church wedding we'll plan it for the renewal.

I Think you got a good guy who values his religious beliefs. and I think its kinda sweet that he wanted you to have the wedding of your dreams like Erica said...I hope he'll be content with the renewal being in church.

Re: I can't believe DH said this...
A renewal in the Church sounds nice. You can have a little dinner celebration with your immediate family after that your DH can plan!
Rob didn't care .. it was more his family who cared. I was mixed at first and then decided I wanted a garden wedding. Latley, I've been questioning my Catholic faith, but let's not get into that.
to you!

Re: I can't believe DH said this...
The vow renewal sounds lovely...Perhaps he didn't tell you at first because he knew a lot of the wedding is about the bride and wanted you to be happy...either way the vow renewal will be so special for both of you!!!

Re: I can't believe DH said this...
well this is sort of along the same veins but my DH tells me he would have prefered if we had a backyard wedding. Like a BBQ. After all the palnning and all the spending I wish he could be a bit more appreciative of how lucky we were to have such a great party.

Re: I can't believe DH said this...
We are planning on doing the renewel for our 5 year anniversary. Would it be too much to wear my gown again?
Catch - I would have KILLED for a bbq reception but DH was nervous about the weather. Too bad too, it was absolutely beautiful on our wedding day.
