buy their own clothes and hide them - that is what I did - and you know this chick has got some serious cash flow
Right, and in all honesty, maybe your parents didn't know. But this girl is famous with pictures floating all over the internet. If you were famous, i think you would have thought twice about what you would be photographed in.
plus didnt her dad let her take a photo shoot where she wasnt wearing a shirt, i mean she was covered by a blanket or something...but my father would kill me now if he knew i did a b-pics lol let alone getting nakie at age 16.
i am suprised they approve of her dating a 20 yr as well...what good comes from that? there is NO need for my 16 yr old daughter to be dating a MAN that is outta college already you know
he likes her for her brains and her committment to stay a virgin until marriage
i dont know, i dont agree with the way she dresses and generally speaking i dont agree with dating older guys BUT i dont know, i did those things and i turned out more than fine I think.....when I was 16 I dated older guys too - all my friends were always older than me - and that was because I was A LOT more mature than my peers when I was 16 - it def was not the wisest decision but I dropped out of high school and went to beauty school and i got a job in a hair salon, I was making good money for 16, 17 - I had friends finishing college so I wanted to be working and making money too - like they were- not sitting in class with immature idiots.....I grew up fast - and I STILL feel that way about my peers - that I am way ahead of them....I went back to school also - went to college - moved out early, always made money and had a job - so I don't know - so I don't think her dating a 20 year old is that big of a deal.....I didn't have a very sheltered life either and neither do these famous people - these celebrity kids grow up fast - I don't know, I feel like I grew up fast so these things dont seem like a big deal to me b/c I lived a lot of it myself
To each their own. The way we grew up will affect the way we raise our children. At 14 I dated a 17 year old and my mother hated the idea. BUt she knew i liked him and allowed me to date him but i had a TON of rules. I wasn't allowed at his house unless she knew his mom was home. he could only come over when my mom was home. I had a curfew of 10 oclock (yes, 10 pm) and he was allowed out until 1, so i felt so lame we he had to drive me home while we were out. at the time i was like, 'OMG you are ruining my life, I'm an adult, leave me alone' but the truth was, I made STUPID mistakes at that age even though I thought I was mature enough to date older/act older.
I'm not knocking it, but I don't condone it. Different strokes for different folks... That is the great thing about this country, you can raise your children however you want.

Ugh, I wish I had those boobs!
Not for nothing - she has a nice rack
You can't really blame the parents b/c we don't know if they approve of her wardrobe - I wore some risque things at 16 - I just changed after I was out of the house - so my parents didn't even know that I was wearing little clothes!
I never showed side boob though but I did sneak and wear belly shirts without them knowing
I don't know 16 is a hard age....at that age some kids have a job and can buy their own clothes and hide them - that is what I did - and you know this chick has got some serious cash flow
I totally used to sneak belly shirts too! LOL! I should post pics of what we used to wear out. Remember the club in NYC called 'the tunnel'....yeah we'd go there and wear really bad outfits and lie where we were and stay out all night

You didn't have her money though. She's exposed to a lot more than you probably were and in a whole different world. I don't know, I think there's the potential for a lot more damage here. She's really young still. From what I remember hearing, they seem to approve of this kid because they know him and know his background...they have similar backgrounds as far as religion. I think she's a little out of control. If she's doing things like this for the attention or shock value, what will she be doing when she's Lindsay Lohan's age?

i forgot to say that some people (and you are proof of this) can handle a more mature lifestyle. But the things this girls has done in the past year has shown that she clearly can't. I mean, she was texting pictures of herself in the shower to her 'friends'....

I remember wanting to wear lipstick in junior high (7th grade) and my mother wouldn't let me. ANyway, I grew up in brentwood during the baggy jeans, lots of eyeliner and purple lipstick era. I begged and begged and she still said so, so i waited until i got on the bus and put it on, but the purple lipstick stained my lips and even though i tried so hard to get it off, it was still on my lips. lol

well that is my point - my parents didn't raise me that way - i was just bad and i did whatever i wanted too - i was not easy to control by any means - i was really rebellious and i turned out fine - parents can try but realistically you can't lock someone in their bedroom until they are 18 - so its not always bad parenting is what i was trying to get at - and just b/c she dresses like a hoe and dates a 20 year old doesn't mean she is destined to fail - growing up is different for everyone....i hope my kids aren't as bad as i was - that thought really scares me
i dont think what she is doing is 'right' but hopefully she'll grow out of it - and if dressing like a skank is all she is doing its better than drugs and crime and stuff like that
ETS: i dont know much about miley and the more yelley posts the more skanky she seems.....and being in the spolight and being a skank at 16 is not cool.....

I'd tend to agree...but things in that industry are VERY different. These kids mature ALOT more quickly than a normal kid. we weren't allowed to dress that way but we also weren't spending all day in the recording studio and recording our own tv show and making millions at that age.

Re: I didn't dress like this when I was 16
I hate, hate, hate it when people say that times have changed and now it's OK for kids to dress like sluts. The only reason that it's more acceptable now is because parents aren't raising their children as well as they used to. I don't know what to blame that on. Maybe because so many young people are getting pregnant who aren't even prepared to raise kids, or maybe it's because with our society the way it is and both parents needing to work - there's no longer a mother at home raising her own children, but instead a daycare and afterschool program. It's sad. I'm never going let my kids dress horrible and show disrespect, just because everybody else is doing it. Because of the fact that it's more common, that doesn't make it so-called 'acceptable'.
Sorry if this is coming out harsh, I just get sooo mad when I see stuff like that.
