I feel like crap today!

I did a bad thing...

I yelled at my MIL this morning because she called at 6:30 a.m. just to tell me she found my phone book. She has a habit of calling to tell us my husband has mail or ask us when we're coming for dinner.

Anyway this morning I snapped. I don't have to be at work until 10 a.m. and she woke me up 4 hours early. I couldn't go back to sleep so I called her back and yelled at her that it was rude of her to call me for something stupid. Then I hung up.

I feel awful

Call her back and apologize for yelling at her and just tell her that she woke you up and you were very tired.Tell her you couldn't fall back asleep.I'm sure she will appreciate it.

I agree with Novemberbride, just call and say you're sorry and emabrassed but that she shouldn't call so early next time. I'm sure she will forgive you.

Irenie I cannot imagine you snapping like that.
After meeting you, one would get the impression that nothing bothers you.

Just call and apologize, but in doing this you must let her know that you were bothered by the phone call.

I do think that this incident will make her more cognizant of her actions and hopefully she will be more considerate.

I agree with the guys above - - apologize for snapping but let her know in a nicer way that behavior upset you. I also agree that I can't seeing you doing that!!!! hehe

I know! I'm the type to yell and then feel awful about it. I want to apologize but I feel like she should have known better.

She does stuff like that all the time. One time we were...let's say...busy. And she called FOUR TIMES in a span of 15 minutes and didn't leave a message. Finally we stopped what we were doing. She totally ruined the moment!! And my husband answered and he was so mad. She just wanted to remind us to call about the mail

I'm sure that would bug me too.Call her though,you'll feel better and just tell her that you were sleeping at that hour and couldn't fall back asleep. I think its rude to call people early in the morning like that.

By the way i still haven't called her. Honestly i'm still upset. But I will before the day is over. Thanks everyone.

I'm sure things will be fine.
My father is like that.He lives in another state.(Thankfully)He drove here to visit us and showed up at my brother's house at 4am.He woke up his whole family and then wanted breakfast.

Irene, call it does not take anything from you to call and say you are sworry, just tell her in a nice way that you would prefer if she called at a more decent hour. WHen hubby and I do not want any disturbance we turn the phone off. If its an emergency they will call 911.

This is a women who misses her son at home. Just call her and tell her you are sorry you yelled but you would really apprecaite her waiting till 10am to call, unless there is a real emergency. I would have been a bit unhappy also.

I agree with michele- she misses her son. I'd call to apologize for snapping and hope that she will take the hint. When me and my DH are busy, we will take the phone off the hook or turn off the ringer.

Okay I'm a chicken. I promise I will call today. She spoke to my husband yesterday and he said she apologized to him profusely and that she's very sorry. She's afraid I'm not speaking to her. As soon as I get offline I will call.
