After a little over a year, I finally got this done. DH found out that a guy that he knows works at a framing shop (owned by his dad) so he gave me an awesome discount - it cost only $300 to frame both these pictures! (and the formal picture is almost twice as big as the black & white!)
Wow those pictures look awesome...I love the black and white.

Pretty, Ann! So if $300 is a good deal, how much is it usally. And what size are your pics? My mom wants us to get ours framed as an anniversary gift, but I'd feel bad if it cossts too much.
We have 3 8x10s. but I think I am only having 1 of them framed.

The formal picture is 20'x20' and the black and white is 11'x11'. I had taken an 8'x10' to a framing place a while ago, and they showed me this beautiful wooden frame and the price was a little over $300! DH's friend told me that that framing place way over-quoted and that most framing places do this (even Michael's)
I couldn't tell you how much it would be otherwise because those are the only 2 framing places that I've ever been to.....

Yes! The first framing place that I went to was gonna charge me $300 for ONE 8'x10'!!!! I was like, holy crap! The formal picture is gonna be like $1000 then! So I would do some pricing around....don't go with the first place that you find. The place that DH's friend works for didn't frames that were as nice as the other place, but I still got a gorgeous, ornate, cherry wood frame and suede mat for that formal picture, and the pre-discount price was $275. So there are places that will do it cheaper, and still do a great job. Especially places like this, where they buy such a huge inventory of frames that they can charge lower prices.

Thanks for the info Ann. There are an unusal number of framing places in my neighborghood. I'm not sure why. I'm sure they are pricey, but I have coupons, so I'll shop around!
