I HATE DOCTORS OFFICES

I HAVE FREAKING STEAM COMING OUT OF MY EARS RIGHT NOW!!! I just got in a freaking fight with some woman over the phone just for calling and inquiring about a bill of DH's!

This office recently moved and they lost all his paperwork!!! They swear they scan everything into the system yet they lost his HIPPA form which allows me to talk to them, the copy of his insurance card which was the reason they billed us in the first place. Then they threatend to withold his prescriptions until the balance was paid! HOW ON EARTH CAN THEY DO THAT?? HE HAS A FREAKING TRAUMTIC BRAIN INJURY HE NEEDS HIS MEDICINE!!!! THAT SHOULD BE CRIMINAL!!!

None of this crap happend before they moved and yet it is all his fault! NO THEY LOST IT ALL! Then she tells me out of no where that she isn't only billing but is the office manager,.... I don't care if your Barak-freaking-Obama give the man his medication!!!

It should be cleared up at somepoint today but I am fuming!!! We have been calling for his meds for 3 weeks and they won't fill them!

UGHHH WHAT A WAY TO START MY DAY!!!!

SOOOOOO HORRIBLE AND FRUSTRATING! The caps locks is because I'm shouting in agreement with you - doctor's offices can be so impossible! Hang in there and stay on top of them! I feel badly....

Ummm, I'm not 100% sure but I think it is against ethics to withhold a patients medication! Especially since it's their fault. They should give the prescription then if anything not schedule any more appts till the balance is paid...they should also provide you with a referral to another doctor if they won't see you. I'd threaten to report them to the office of professions because of that threat. That's crazy.

I'm a social worker and used to work in outpatient mental health. Even if a family didn't pay their fee or copayment, by law we had to see them and just try to bill. If we cut off service it wasn't at a crucial point and we had to refer them elsewhere for services.

They're crazy. The medical field is stressed for dollars, but this isn't how you go about it. People will do as much as you allow them to do...you should call 311 or the office of professions to file a complaint or even just inquire as to your rights as a patient. They should be ashamed of themselves!

Thank you I appreicate your support and your professional input. All DH has been asking for is for the dr. to call in a script to get him through until his next appointment on the 11th. We had no reponse for weeks and then find this out. He even went so far as to tell them that he has never seen an office more concerned with the all mighty dollar. He is right too.

He is calling with his insurance card # and regarding some other BS bill they are throwing at us which should be worked out. If not, we are not returning to this office. He will find another Dr.

Thank you Barb. It should be sorted out now. DH called with his insurance card #. We don't owe tem a dime they are just disorganized. He has been to them atleast 5 times and only this last appointment caused all this crap. He left yet another message to have his rx's filled and now we wait to see if they actually do it.

It really sucks because the doctor we actually like but her office staff is nothing but nasty old biotches!

Glad that you are finally getting things straightened out. I hate hearing stuff like this. If you feel it's really the office staff, you may consider letting the doctor know what went on after your next appointment and how it reflects on him. Think of how many people go thru crap like this and don't have the family or ability to advocate for themselves!!

always ask the persons name that you spoke to from ur ins company.

documents all the messages u leave for the doc. (date/time)

trust me. the more organized u are, the better off you'll be.
