Had to see what other working wives are doing...
i HATE it too. My DH is always up complaining that I never do it- he will do it but I try not to! hehe. I also grew up with a cleaning lady so never really had to - although that's not the reason I hate it. We have someone come in about once a month to do the big stuff but we just clean in between.
I have a woman that comes every other week. I do the day to day stuff of course - definitely pass the vacuum, dust, laundry, dishes, etc. But she does the hard stuff like the bathrooms, scrubbing, baseboards that kind of thing. I love to clean though and am considering letting her go once I find a good routine with the baby. I will only be working a day or so a week starting in the Spring, and can't imagine why I can't clean my own house under those conditions. IT's great exercise and I love the accomplished feeling of it! Plus it's $75 in my pocket that I dont' have right now!
We have a woman who comes in about once a month. She does a great job in certain areas, but I discovered this week when I was cleaning up my apartment for Christmas that she neglects other areas, such as under the couch and the bed. But our kitchen and bathroom are sparkly when she's done in there. And our plastic shower curtain looks like new after her visit!
