I hate my album

okay first : you were an absolutely BEAUTIFUL bride! now onto the album; i actually think it's really nice! HOWEVER, i understand how u feel...i only handed in my pics for my album a few months back(yea - i know i'm a big procrastinator lol) BUT - i was really unhappy with the initial layout. my husband did the whole 'It's fine!' thing - but the bottom line is, we're paying for it & i want to be happy. I talked to my photographer & he was actually really supportive of making changes. I felt bad & so hesitant about it & he was like 'Just talk to us! that's our job & it's what u pay us for'.....so no matter what anyone says, if you're unhappy - TELL THEM! tell them what u'd like changed...i've talked to girls on here who've sent back over 3 sets of changes! so don't worry about it. so sorry ur unhappy with it though! hope it works out!

honestly, it doesnt matter if we like it, you have to- what is it that you dont like? maybe we can help you put together your thoughts for the photographer?

I think Im just not happy with my backrounds. There are no almost no pictures for backrounds or any color to it. It just makes it boring to me. Ive been looking at it for 2 weeks and cant come up with my own thoughts to make it nicer. So any suggestions you may have I'd really appreciate

I felt the same way with my backgrounds- I wanted different ones on all the pages and some to go across the pages like I've seen other girls on here have.

What helped was, I sent my photpgrapher a link to someone's album that I loved and she used that for inspiration. Maybe search through the nw board and see if there are particular albums where you really like the style/layout and then you can show your photographer.

i probably should've read the whole post before saying anything lol I was going to say something about the backgrounds as well. I would definitely say something and change them if you don't like it. Like it was said, that's sort of the whole point of getting the digital album.

I am going to be completely honest. I do not like the layout. The pics are gorgeous, but there are too many square pictures. I know lots of places do it this way and so does my studio, that is why I told them that they were to put minimum square pics, and they were to blur in as much pics as possible. Maybe that's the reason you don't like the album? cause of the square photographs? If that's not the case, then I do not see anything that's not to like. The pics are great you guys look great. maybe if you ask them to blur some pictures it might work for you. I don't know how many times you get to revise. We only got 3 but I made sure to tell them from the start that I did not want a certain style. Sorry, I hope you can figure it out and work with them.

He is willing to work with me I already sent him some things I didnt like. Just want to get it all together before I annoy him again.

Hey - so far I really like it! I am actually a fan of plain or black backgrounds and maybe that is why I like it so much. I think when the backgrounds are too busy, it takes away from the actually pictures.

Anyway, here are a few changes I would suggest. I am picky and this is JMHO.

pg 24 and 25 - change the background to something else or just white

pg 27 - not crazy about the colored boxes

pg 28 - crop the dancefloor out of the picture, it is distracting

pg 35 - not crazy about this tan background

Also I tend to like things a bit more uniform...all B&W on one page, all color pics on another page, but that is just me.

Please dont take any of this to heart....I am just picky and these are the changes I would ask for!

I really do think that's the case. My album will get here in a mnth, sadly they don't give me the online proofs But I can assure you for me that was it! Of course there are certain areas where you cannot get rid of the squares (wish I had my album to show you) but in other sections they can. For example. I have 4 pics that we are at the piers, 2 or 3 they blured and I think 1 or two were squares and it works. How many chances do you have to modify it. We only had 3.

ETA: The pics that are blured in and go well are the one where the background is similar...for e.g. pics at the park or pics at the beach. Pics of similar backgrounds.

I think it looks awesome!!!!!!!! Sometimes were more critical of ourselves but you look beautiful and the pics are great
