I have a car related trade-in opinion question

What would you do in this situation? My parents bought my sister and I a corolla when we graduated HS to share. We still share it because she works in the city and neither of us need a car that often. I'm looking into getting a new car now but we still have the corolla. I don't think my sister wants to sell it because she doesn't want to buy herself a new car just yet. I'm going to ask her to buy me out half of the car but I don't know what to charge her. I looked at the kelly blue book value but I don't think I can go by that because there are so many different options there I'm not sure which one to choose (ie- private party value, trade in value, etc). What would you do?

i think its the trade in value. Look at kelly blue book and look at other corolla's that are the same year as yours and see how much they cost if you were to buy one. Also theres lots of used car magazines and online sites and see how much the corolla from the same year is and i guess do half of that

i work in this industry.. go to nada.com. enter the VIN #
use the clean retail value.
this site is similar to KBB, but most dealers/shops/insurance co's use nada.com.
the clean retail value is what your car is worth present day, given the year, condition, mileage, etc.
