i have a ? out of left field..

im a bit house/apt decorating challenged...

i ordered these cute window valances from LTD for the christmas season.. i just now take them out of the package and find thats its just a long rectangular piece of material with no slot for the curtain rod... it almost looks like a table runner... is this normal? i thought a window valance was the short curtains just for the top of the window... please help the dummy!

All the ones I have seen usually have a slot for the curtain rod to go through. If yours does not and you are so challenged, you could do a little velco job and fold it over a cutain rod. HTH

Maybe they sent you a scarf instead of a valance. I have a scarf one on my big living room window - you basically drape it over the curtain rod. Let me see if I can find a picture.
