But we are finally getting ready to order our Thank You's. Do you think this is a good picture to use?

We got married in August 2002 and finally sent our thank you's in mid November 2002. So, you're not the only ones late. Our proofs were ready for pick-up mid September when we came back from our honeymoon and we took about 2 weeks culling through to decide which photo to use for our TY card. Both mothers wanted to have a say in selecting our TY card but were not paying for it (our thank you's were not included in our photography package). It took about 3 weeks for our thank you's to arrive and a week to write.

IMHO, I like your photo 'as is.'

And by the way you are not the only one late. I sent thank you notes a month after the wedding, but without picture because of course we were just getting back the proofs. I have had my color thank you pictures for already two weeks or so, but the lab printed the wrong one in B&W and now I got to wait almost 2 weeks more. I want to send the 'second part' of my thank you ASAP, but when I freak out about it, I feel happy that DH pushed me to send appreciation notes without pictures first.

I think its a nice photo but i'd like to see what others you had in mind. (I like more emotional photos usually)

Dont listen too much to what i have to say b/c I always pick the thing that everyone hates and do not care at all if people can see your dress and stuff that most people find important but here are my picks:

But my vote is the streamers one...its just looks so happy and fun. It makes me think that the people who didnt come will say 'oh, what a great time that wedding was, im sorry i missed it' and the others will remember what a good time they had.

Good...can i go on and on or what? ANyway - im editing to add if you can use more than one photo on your thank you. Maybe a grouping of three - one action shot, one traditional crowd pleaser and one more intimate one.

Stef, many of those ARE MY favorite shots of the whole wedding. We have just been torn between what we love and crowd pleasers. We were going to do the streamers in color with the rest in black and white but it became very difficult to do. The other reason we picked the top one was because it was not from the photographer. It's not because we are cheap or do not like his work. It's just that we have procrasinated for soo long and he told us it would take 8-10 weeks to get a 5x7 and Darren does not want to wait that long. I was going to gie in, but now you have me thinking again, that I am not sure. I LOOOVVVEEE the first shot you posted....believe it or not it is candid, it looks kind of posed but it is not. The streamer shot is amazing and I love it sooo much. OOHH just when I thought the decisions were over.... LOL

Sidenote question, do you know anything about a program called flipbook?

OK I LOVE the first pic and that would be my top choice but I have to say I also really like this one too, if you are looking for a more tradtitional. But I still vote for #1!

You are giving everyone 5x7? Would it be quicker if you gave them smaller photos?

I think 8 weeks is an insane amount of time. If your photographers lab is that backed up, maybe they will be willing to let you go elsewhere. Most labs only take a few days to do something like that.

Ive heard of flipbook i think...its one of those programs where you put a lot of photos in and it make a 'book' that opens on your computer screen right?
