I love it when friends don't call for 4 months...
....and then do so just to see if I can get them concert tickets or 'take' them if I did.
My ex-roommate puts on this oh so 'I am DYING to see you!!!' routine on the phone with me, and then in the same breath 'so did you get Dave Matthews tickets? Can you can you???'.
I haven't heard from her since my wedding, and I called her when I got back from my honeymoon. She never returned the call until now.

How sneaky of her!!!Misty I work in an enviroment where sometimes I can get tickets to stuff, and those so called friends come out of the wood work as well. I always tell them no.

Re: I love it when friends don't call for 4 months...
See that is why no one fakes the funk with me, b/c if I notice that is how she operates, I would call her on it.Her: Hey Shamma what's up
Me : Hey Misty nothing much, long time no hear from you
Her: Oh I have been so sick
Me: Oh so sorry to hear
Me: So what did I do to deserve this call??
Her: Just checking to see how married life is treating you and to see if you heard that DM is performing in CP
Me: Yes I did, but I gave those tkts I had to my real friends, the ones who call whether there is a concert or not
Figuring you were sick and all I would not want you out in the night dew
I do not like that at all, sneaky, sneaky, sneaky

Or you can change your vm to say, Hey you have reached Misty, if you are calling for some concert tkts and you have not spoken to me in ages, I don't have any, so you can hang up now

People always pop out of the woodwork in situations like that.

SHAMMA I AM DYING!!!Get this...haven't heard from a deadbeat in months. She's also a close friend of DH who hasn't heard either...Since literally the day I told her about the baby. So she works in not-for-profit, and we get a call the other day - she's HYSTERICALLY CRYING - (all dramatic)...that the t-shirts she ordered (from another COMPANY when she knows this is what we do for a living) came in wrong and she needs 2,000 done by the next day. Of COURSE we are like DON'T panic, send the job we'll do it right now, and she calls back and says (not crying now) - just tell me if you can donate them - and we say so sorry but that is like $8000 and we just can't do that - and she like yells - thanks for the HELP but FORGET IT and HANGS UP! Not like - thank you SO much for trying to help, etc. Can you IMAGINE?

Jenny, she's not slick at all, you could see thru that, she wanted them for free from the get go, ohhhhh that is just not right at all.

If she calls me again I'm going to tell her that I didn't speak to her as much when I lived with her!
Jenny, I wonder if this is the same person?

Its so wrong to put a friend in that type of awkward situation.

Hate this! How 'bout the 'friends' who couldn't be bothered with you when you were planning your wedding, and then as soon as they get engaged, they are all up in your business, wanting to know who your vendors were and what songs you used, etc. Blech.

Re: I love it when friends don't call for 4 months...
I would have said (about the concert) Actually I was lucky enough to get back stage passes but I passed on them. I didn't know anyone who could go
That'll teach her a lesson.Jenny- ***? Why would you donate $8K worth of shirts on one day's notice without so much as a real phone call? I mean, that is insane. I highly doubt any company would do that. I would never speak to her again.

Re: I love it when friends don't call for 4 months...
Here's an update you'll all love.I just get an IM from this same 'friend'. She has everyone blocked on her IM so they can't see her online but she can see everyone else. So she IM's me 'why haven't you called me back?'. So I say 'well, I'm at work, and I don't have the time to really chat on the phone much'. She says 'well, can you get tickets?'. I said 'actually, I could have a few weeks ago, but not anymore'. She says 'oh that ****s, well I gotta go'. So before she goes, I tell her 'I guess I won't hear from you until the next concert you want tickets for'...and I blocked her back.
