I'm going to Key West!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Woo Hoo!!!!!

My DH surprised me last night and booked us a 5 night trip to the Hyatt Key West for our 1st Anniversary!!!!!! I am SOOOOOOO excited...we originally wanted to go to Disney for our anniversary, but then when we bought the house in May, we said we weren't going to go away...

This is going to be soooooooooo great!!!!!!!!!

ETA...Anyone have any suggestions and things for us to do? I know we'll be one block from Duval Street where all the action is...but, are there any 'must see and do's'?

Hog's Breath was great fun. Sloppy Joe's was incredible! These 2 guys Pete & Wayne play there, and they were great.

Margaritaville, Jimmy Buffet's restaurant, was very good. Sloppy Joe's also had good food. We also ate at this little Italian place that I can't remember the name of, but that was good too.

The Aquarium was nice, Ripley's Believe It or Not kinda stunk (we went on a day that rained), and Mallory Square was pretty. We never saw a sunset because it was always too cloudy.

Is it a very casual atmosphere there? Or, do you dress up?

Totally casual. But if you plan on going to a 'real' place to eat, a skirt and shirt is fine for you and khaki's and a collar shirt is fine for DH. That's what we did the night we all ate at the Italian place. (We had a group of about 12 people down there!)

definatly go to mallory Square to see the sunset. It is incrediable.

We stayed in Key West for the 2nd part of our honey moon and had a blast. Have a great time.

Wow, I love Key West! DH took me there last year for my 30th. If you like history, Harry Truman's summer home is there...that was pretty cool and a must-see for my DH as he is obsessed with Harry Truman! Also, my favorite thing we did was renting boats and taking a tour of the area/snorkeling. You get to drive your own speed boat (the guide is in his own) and you end up in swimming in the middle of the ocean...amazing!!!!

Rent a car and drive up to Islamorada. Theater of the Sea is there and you can swim with the dolphins.

Oooo!! I'm so jealous! I love Key West. Irish Kevin's was our favorite bar. And we did a sunset cruise twice because we loved it so much. Have fun!!!

we went there on our HM - have a blast.
Definitely the Dolphin swim if you can do it - go to Key Largo. Its a little pricey, but you actually get to swim with a dolphin, its so cool.

Rent a car - see the sunset from everywhere (Mallory square included).

Eat! Drink!

We did the hemingway house, kinda price for a house tour, but interesting if you like that kind of thing.

We so want to go back. Have a great time!
