I've been living in Great Neck for almost a year now.. which means I haven't been to the gym for that long
When I lived in Massapequa I went to Synergy and I LOVEDDDDDDDDDD IT!!!! Went 4 days a week and it was awesome.
I work in Bayside and so I tried Bell Plaza Sports Club and Lucille Roberts and don't like either of them.
I definitely need a place with a parking lot (no excuses for not going).. I prefer a co-ed gym.. with lots of machines.. I wish there was a Synergy close by.
I don't want to spend $1i928371983712987 but it doesn't have to be as cheap as Lucilles.
Any advice?

NYSC is in Great Neck...they are kind of expensive I have been a a member forever and I recently went in and was like...I know am canceling my membership if you dont lower my rate (I knew people were paying less bc they have 'Specials' the lowest I could get them to give me was $55. I know there is a $99 initiation fee HTH

Sorry to crash your boards, but I live in bayside and I go to power house gym on francis lewis, I like it, I have not done any classes there yet, but I will be starting those this week. HTH!

I go to LA Fitness in lake success and it's a really great gym. I always feel like I'm at a resort when I'm there. I'm looking for a spinning buddy

I live in Great neck too and I go to LA Fitness in Lake Success. It is great there... its so big there are so many machines there's always something open. I think it's $49/month there.

Jess.. I've been to LA Fitness with a friend of mine and it's a really nice gym.. I wish it was closer to me! By the way.. spinning = complete TORTURE!!! I'm jealous that you are doing it though.. I usually want to die after 5 minutes in a spin class hahahaha
I definitely have to find a gym within 5 mins or so of my house or I know that I won't go.. I think I'm going to check out NY Health and Racquet and NY sports club and see how it goes

I used to belong to NYHRC and enjoyed that gym. Definitely check out the one in Great Neck!

Just because I'm looking for a spin buddy doesn't mean I've actually been to spinning classes, haha. I need someone to look ridiculous with me for my first class. I heard it's torture but I heard once you get used to it it's an awesome workout and my thighs are my problem area so I think it's a good idea for me. I live in bayside and go to LA fitness. I've tried the gyms in bayside and hate them all so I don't mind the commute to la fitness. The only decent one is NYSC but it's expensive. LA fitness is really that far from great neck?

It's not SUPER far.. but it's not really around the corner.. which is what I figure that I need so I can't make any excuses.. you know? Someone posted that GHI reimburses you for your gym membership too .. so I'm going to check into that.. it would be awesome if they covered it all!
