I need help with something

I need help with something

Ok so you ladies know our Day-After Shoot is in May. we're not trying to recreate the wedding day at all-going for a much more casual look overall because for one, I am NOT growing out my hair again lol. Sooo its casual.

Simnce I hated my dress (and still do) I was thinking of trying to jazz it up a little since my hair and everything else will be more laid back, so it doesn't look like I 'don't belong' in a wedding dress.

This is not my dress obviously but what do you think of tying a red sash like this around my waist? Its just a 2 inch wide ribbon. I could even attach a brooch to the middle of the sash to keep it from slipping and make it look lil' bit more 'wedding' for the pics.

This was my dress..It has no embellishment on it over than the lace overlay.

I think that would look good!

Can you take 1/2 of the pictures with the sash and 1/2 without?

The sash is very nice, but if you are ambivalent about using the sash, then perhaps you can take half and half and have no regrets.

Hmmnnn, red sash with the red polka dot shoes.
I like the visual.
The sash can be removed for some of the pictures to give you a variety.

B&W shots with only the sash and shoes colored in would look awesome.

Oh Im not ambivalent Vik but you're sweet for the concern!

I just didn't want it to look 'weird' since they didn't originally come together, but you know I LOVE red and HATED my dress.

One of the issues I had with it (and still do) is that my waist doesn't look very defined in it I feel. So I was thinking the sash would help that as well as add that WHAM of color to compliment my heels. My dress is fitted so it won't bag or anything. LOL I am basically trying to 'get a new dress' without paying anything FOR a new dress

I think the red sash would be perfect.

It sounds like a good idea! I've seen lots of wedding gowns with sashes and I like that look. But if you're not sure how it will look with your dress, you could at least try it and see if you like it, because it's not really a permanent alteration.
I just have to add that I like the idea of a Day-After shoot! I've never heard of that before, but it sounds like fun! I wasn't crazy with how my wedding proofs came out, actually DH and I were pretty disappointed with them overall, and I'd love to redo them! DH is sooo over anything wedding related though, so doubt I could convince him into it!

Thanks girls! I think I am going to do it. I just tried with moy bathrobe sash 'cause it is satin and sorta like what I blan to do. It gives a def kick. Yesi is going to see if she can find the one she wore in a friend's wedding for me so I don't have to buy one! WOO she rocks!

It definetly (even the ghetto type I did with my sash lol) added an extra OOMPH and showed that yes world, I do have a waist.

Grace, I wasn't going to do the shoot at first. I was reaally hesitant too because its an extra expense. But I LOVE LOVE Laura's work and I know she will have fun with us and let us be ourselves and do an amazing job. So I am looking at it sorta as the wedding we did not have; we wanted a destination beach wedding which is why I bought such a plain dress.

I planned to do flowers in my hair or some sort of hair accessory. I wanted a very fun, carefree look. So thats what we are going to do for the Day-After. We are going to of course take some nice romantic portraits to make up for what we missed on oru wedding day BUT we're going to be US.

Dressed up but not ussed out. I am going to keep my hair as it is now because I love it and when smooth it looks fine. I'll probably do daisies in my hair-gerbers on the side or a lace and fabric hair accessory I have. DH will just wear his suit not a tux-much more like what we intended so it should be fun.

I think I need a visual of some kind, I think it would look nice especially with those shoes of yours...but I really would have to see it to say whether I like it or not

I think it would look GREAT! You could do a pic that really shows off your awsome shoes and the sash. I think it would give your pics a funky laid back look and if you did a red gerber in your hair that would tie it together too!

Jenn, I was going to suggest you do a flower in your hair - but I see you already thought of that ... great minds think alike

I think the first pic you posted looks great and is a good indicator of how it will look with your dress - I think it's a great idea. I originally wanted to go with an all lace dress (a line) and was going to do a white sash for the ceremony and then change into a blue sash for the reception. I think it gives it a little kick and will look hot.
