glad you are ok
I have this condition called VegoVaso( not 100% on the spelling) syncope where your blood pressure drops and you pass out. I have passed out in restuarants, nail places ect and now I can feel it coming , the first few times it was SO scary because I had no idea what was happening
I get low to the ground , or sit on the floor if you can and it usually passes . I don't care where I am , I have sat on the floor on the subway because I felt like i was going to pass out

I'm so sorry this happened to you. Make sure you drink a lot of water. I'm a fainter and I only tend to pass out when I'm dehydrated. Eating is important too. I'd also see a doc just to be safe. Hope you feel better real soon

Well the first time I was in TGIFriday's and they called an ambulance they said my blood pressure is low ( I did not eat all day that day. and i was waiting for a table, FUN TIMES haha ) .
I went to my doctor, and by the symptoms I reported and he did take my blood, but he diagnosed me even before just by my symptoms and what I reported the EMT's and hospital told me
You should listen to DH and eat breakfast , because lots of things can trigger a blood pressure drop, dehydration , hunger ( even if your not feeling hungry in the am , have something small) , heat.
Don't be alarmed too much, it has never happened while I was driving or sitting, its always been when im standing . If I am sitting, then I can just put my head down and it goes away
, the best thing is get low to the ground and put your head between your knees the blood rushes back to the head and it will pass.
If it happens again go to a Dr, it could be a number of things, low blood sugar level ect

So sorry to hear that and I'm glad you're ok. This happen to me like 2 weeks ago on the train too, it was so scary and I'm so glad so many people helped me. It was definitely my bp and from now on I carry a little bag of salt in my bag but I've been so nervous on the train lately thinking it will happen again.
i know.. i felt so embarrsed.. do you eat breakfast before you go to work?
Wow that has never happened to me, so glad you ladies were helped by others and that you are okay. Do make sure you eat before you leave to go to work, I eat once I get to work. The 1st thing I thought while reading was that maybe you were prego but then read you weren't

Re: I passed out
that happened to me once, and other times my knees got weak and i got sick and about to pass out but sat down quickly and somehow was able to relax a bit and got over it. I have low blood pressure as it is so when it goes down this happens to me. Used to happen alot more often. It can be scary, sorry this happened to you. I do agree with trying to eating something quickly, not even a big breakfast. I buy the box of cereal bars and take that with me when i leave the house and this way i can eat it on the train if anything. Also i usually get something to drink while i am on the train and most times I drink redbull in the morning. It doesn't make me hyper or anything close to that, but with me since I have low blood pressure, it just kinda balances me out.

I can also tell before I am going to pass out & it's the same thing with me. I have to sit low to the ground or drop my head & then it passes.

Re: I passed out
awww im glad u are ok!!!!!!
I pass out all the time lol i had to take a tilt table test at a hospital and they told me that im neuro cardiogenic....something about how sometimes the blood doesnt flow correctly around my brain and it makes me pass out...im not sure if this is different then the veso vego that someone else described bc thats basically the same i have...it happens to me a lot but only when im standing, and i always feel it coming (its def a scary thing) and if i can sit down- i can get the feeling to go away, so its pretty controllable...the times i pass out is because im an iddiot and somehow think that i can get the feeling to go away (times where im somewhere that u cant exactly just sit down) and it never does and its def way more embaressing to pass out then to just tell someone u need to leave or sit wherever possible
anyways im glad your ok and since this seems like your first time, im sure it was because u didnt eat anything!

I am so glad you are ok and that people were nice enough to help. Yknow, sometimes I think there arent any nice people in this world anymore but then someone proves me wrong. DH and I were in the bronx about 2 weeks ago (161st very busy) and this lady was riding her wheelchair down the side walk..well, she must of tipped the wheel on the sidewalk and she just feel ride on her side...wheel chair and all! It was amazing how many people went to help her. I love when people are kind to one another.

when i got on the train this morning, i was all eyes to make see if anyone around me recognized me from yesterday.. i made sure i stuffed my face before i left the apt. it was the headache that followed what bothered me..
veso vego i think is that some people are more prone to low bp (athletes, women on the lower end of their normal weight spectrum) and causes you pass out.. gosh definitely don't want to go there.. i've just got control of my anaphylaxis attacks a year or so ago.. so i will chow chow chow in the AM..

Re: I passed out
im not a NW (sorry ladiessss im a 09 bride but wanted to answer to this post!!)
look up VasoVagal......i have had the exact same symptoms as you. my body cannot tolerate the hot weather at all. especially in the train, i had it so bad to the point that i couldnt take the train anymore, passed out in the train, at the beach, in my house, outside, etc etc...they can do a tilt table test for you, or try medication to help.
right now i take meds (have been on it since 07) , and it works wonders! im not 100% without any vasovagal, but im at about 70%...and its a pill only once a day (beta blocker)
i carry around with salt all the time, to make sure my BP goes back up when i feel too hot and like im goin to pass out, also i get a riniging in my ear and if i get that i know m about to drop. my doc says try to lie down and if you can put your head between your legs so that the blood can rush to your head. also they said with people that have vasovagal, hydration is #1 key, so i walk around EVERYWHERE with a bottle of water in my bag, and in the summer one of those little spritzer bottle to spray myself. if you want to FM me you can ask me any questions, but this def. sounds like what you have!
