Yell - if you're looking in Babylon at all (OK schools) - there is an AWESOME starter home on the market for $399. It's been on the market for over a year so they're probably really negotiable.
It's so cute and has SO much character...

Really quiet street, close to the train and village. Great location.
bay shore is a great school district. it has/had a weird reputation but sadly it's mainly because it has a diverse population. i grew up there and loved it!

It was an 'approved' short sale, we put in an offer, the bank accepted, we signed contracts, not the bank is changing it's mind. We've been sitting and waiting since october and i just got word in the beginning of the week that it is 99% over...

That's miserable! I'm so sorry to hear that...How can the bank change their mind now?

Because with short sales the bank wants to make sure they are getting as much money as they possibly can for the house since they are already taking a loss. But my whole thing is this -- if you wanted more money, you shouldn't have accepted our offer!!!!![]()

Have you tried West Islip? Its really only a few minutes south. . .Keith and I were looking in Commack, West Islip, Massapequa (school districts) Commack has SO many houses for sale, lots of splits if you like them. Some weren't too badly priced. . not sure what your budget is![]()

Sayville and Comsewogue are rated top 5% in the country and are rated New York state schools of excellence, East Islip is great and three village is great.
