I think I just ended a freindship..............

To make a long story short, I always try to make time for friends. I am a very busy person and trying to get adjusted to married life, and trying to straighten out my parents estate, ( they both passed away) I have been very busy, and DH works 2 jobs, I barely see him during the week and we cheerish the weekends. Not one person has complained to me until now, she is 49 years old and single we have been friends for 3 years and she tells me she never sees me, we have spent the past year getting together every month or so and calling each other too, and she says she understands, I am married but even during the week she asks people to go out and they do not, there have been so many times I have met her for dinner with DH or even by myself half asleep so I would not hear this and this is what I get?! I have gone to dinner with her many times when I just wanted to be home, met for coffee, had her over, what else more can I do?! I am so mad, I do not think I am going to call her again. DH and I were just sayng she is the one person for the first year of our marriage that drove us CRAZY! What do you all think? I tried to explain it to her and she says she is telling everyone this that is married.......................
PS Jodi, if you are reading this I am sure you know who this is................

Opinions? Did I do anything wrong?

No, I don't think you did anything wrong. Real friends understand when you are going through transition and will even back off. If anything, I think my friends have called less since I have been married, to give me some space. One of my friends just had a baby and I told her I was sorry that I haven't been out to see her more. Her response was..'well, you just got MARRIED, you have been busy.'

Let this relationship cool off for a while is my advice. If you feel like you are missing her after a while, give her a call, if not, let this one go. You are not 12, and therefore you are not obligated to schedule monthly outings. If she can't understand why you are busy right now, she is acting childish and it doesn't sound like you have time for such a high maintenance friend at this time in your life.

BTW: I am sorry for your loss. My parents died within a short amount of time and it is a difficult thing to handle. Good luck.
