So a co-worker of mine came across this in roosevelt feild...
cactus salon has their academy in the basement of roosevelt feild and is offering different services at a really cheap rate...
so these people are prob not that experienced, but i need a hair cut really bad, and dont feel like paying $50 for my salon to trim my hair and barely cut off an inch...this is $12!!!!
i so might do this! it makes me a little nervous, but it says they are under supervision...
there are two levels, phase 1 of the academy and then phase 2, phase 2 is alittle more expensive (obvi they are more experienced) we called and they only have phase 1s at the moment...
If you literally are getting only an inch off, what's the worst that can happen? Maybe they take off 2 by accident? If it's not out of the way for you to go there, I don't see the harm.

A lot of times they will do what THEY want the people to practice not necessarily what YOU ask for...just make sure before you go..but i think its a great idea!

If you're nervous, maybe try going for just a wash and blow dry first to scope it out.

I work right across the street from Roosevelt Field and I've gone there several times after work if I have a function to go to for a blow out but never for a cut.
I'd give it a shot if it's just a trim.

I just went there for the first time on Tuesday with my mom and sister. All of us were mainly getting trims, nothing fancy and they did a great job. They ask you what you want done, cut some and then will ask if you want it trimmed a little more. I hate paying a lot for haircuts and will definitely go back for another $12 haircut from them. I'm even thinking about going back to get my hair dyed, they only charge $18, which is really good.

i just made an appt to get my hair dyed!!!! how bad can they mess up, it can't be as bad as i do, when i do it myself!!!!

being that they don't charge much and that they are students, I tipped $5
