If you could go back and tell your younger self one thing..
What piece of advice would you give yourself, based on your viewpoints now as a mature woman?
Mine would be to tell the young college me to fawk those guys who ran me off campus cause their dady's had money and were alumni and take it STRAIGHT to the cops and demand something be done about it, and to keep a paper trail and be the Nancy drew I am today. That way they'd have been arrested, Id have finished school and wouldn't be where i am today. Don't run from ANYONE is what i'd tell myself, especially when you have nothing to be ashamed of.
I'd also tell myself that 'this too will pass' meaning, just take a breath because its all bull crap and you learn to deal and things turn out ok in the end.

In HS, I would definitely tell myself that I didn't need to feel so insecure and that what other people thought was pretty inconsequential, so not to give it so much focus. I had a hard time in HS bc it was really when my health issues were interferring more w/ things and I lost some friendships, partly them not being there, partly me pulling away bc I was embarrassed or felt like I couldnt do the things they wanted to or I cared too much about needing help. I would tell myself who gives a crap, let your friends help, and go have fun. (I could give 2 hoots now about any one elses issues!!!) None of these douchey guys matter in the end, you end up w/ the biggest angel and sweetheart. And dont cry over some of these lost relationships, some of them were never true friends. Essentially, Id say, you're good enough as is! And never lose sight of your faith.
Good qu, Jenn!

Thanks Jess. I like your answer-I think for me, becoming a better Christian has really allowed me to say 'screw it!' though thats not a very Christian word lmao. But essentially I feel, only person I need to answer to is God. I try and be a good person, fall down and make mistakes, but I get up and try again because that is what he put me on this earth for. My faith has helped me take things more in stride, trying to see the bigger picture. So thats whatI'd like to give back to my younger self and my kids in the future.

Go out there, believe in yourself, and do the best that you can. I am a confident woman now but when I was younger I felt I was held back a little. I did it to myself a little and some of my teachers also did it to me. In high school I showed them that I could accomplish anything.
If I had the opportunity and had to sing for my elementary school music teacher again; I would. I do know how to sing because I do sing. Just to show her that I do have confidence. I am sure she knows I sing because I would sing in class and at 5th grade graduation but singing all alone at that age was pretty stressful.

Great point. If Im livin for him, what does all the rest of that mess matter??
Hindsight i sreally 20/20 isnt it. Whew. It would be cheating a bit but Id go back and tell myself ...self, dont get engaged to that one dude. Turns out he's not soo great for you in the end. Youll meet your best friend and love of your life after him and his shenanigans! JK. It was a life lesson I needed I suppose. No fast forwarding to hubby.

great answer jenn... Mine is very similar... Definately just to not be scared to do anything and never quit! I've been scared off of too many potential careers in my life and I wish I wouldve just hung in there and experienced life. Luckily I ended up with a career anyway, somehow... It all works out in the end.

-chuckles- Ive been there-not engaged but the guy before pete asked me to move in-I hsitated because was afraid of committement which should have told me HE WAS NOT THE ONE but i didnt listen. When i agreed, he dumped me!!! LMAO But I agree...each jerk i dated brought me one step closer to Pete. Thats why we used the song 'God Bless the Broken Road' by rascall Flatts for our wedding song-because he endured his own shenanigans with crazy exes. Everything happens for a reason.

I would tell my high school self to 1) not go back with Frank (psycho boyfriend) 2) join the drama club and student council 3) and believe in yourself...despite what others say..
Man I wish I could do that....but the good thing is that I'm a stronger person now because of the crap I went through in my teenage years..

I'd have told myself NOT to date that loser in college and to focus more on my friends and horses in college.

love that song. i was in a store while visiting my mom out in OH, they sell all americana home decor and whatnot, kinda country, homey style. i love it. anyways, i heard that song in the background, love it..but it was a female bluegrass rendition..beautiful!!!! i had to go ask the woman who it was, they had the cd so i bought it. The artist is 'Bluegrass Girl.' Its a really pretty version.

Aww thanks honey! I try. need to make my day pass and I enjoy having conversations with you girls.
Really Jess? Hmm I have to check it out-love the version of Rascall Flatts and Carrie Underwood. They did a duet and it was awesome too. I walked down the aisle to it as well-instrumental version.

I'd tell myself to continue my focus on music (I stopped when I was 17), and not to be in a rush to 'grow up'.....I've been so career oriented since I was 18, I kind of feel like I went straight in to the rat race if only that could also mean that I could retire soon, since I've been working full time almost 10 years I'm tired!

I wish i could tell my young self to not worry so much about what other people think, that everything will turn out just fine. I don't think I would change too much else as I think it helped shape who I am today (even dating losers and getting screwed over by friends)

DITTO! I dated this 1 looosssserrrr creepo my first and 2nd semester of college. he was alittle older than me, but he was an entire creep and looking back, he put me in a bad position and took me some place far and god helped me if he tried something i would have kicked him in his nuts. there was just an incident where he put me in a very uncomfortable position and uhh..long story.
then i had 2 male friends in college and i wish i would have still kept in touch w. them if my husband (boyfriend at the time) wasn't so protective....cause these 2 friends were there for me thru thick & thin....
