My entire wedding was very traditional and I wouldn't change a thing really. But if I could have a second wedding I think I would do a Princess Bride-like Rennaissance kind of theme. I would've loved to have had an empire waist dress, flowers in my hair type wedding

That's oringally what I wanted, but then I learned I don't look good in Empire wasted gowns & the flowers in my hair was causing logistical difficultiies.
In college, I always said I wanted a wedding BBQ, so maybe I'd do that.
I loved my wedding, but these were my runner up ideas.

Aw, thanks!
Maybe four our 25th anniversary or something so we can totally embarrass our kids! Actually I don't think I could pull it off any time besides my own wedding. You know you never get a second chance - or maybe a better word is excuse - to go all out like that! It's just a fantasy really and I just thought of it because one girl on BHB mentioned that she walked down the aisle to the Storybook Love (the theme song for Princess Bride)...I love that romantic look and I would've loved to have done something like that, but I think I wanted traditional more...
And Heather - So true about the logisitics! I wanted to do flowers in my hair and the florist was SOOOO not cooperative. She kept saying whatever I put in my hiar would wilt and die. By the end I wished the same on her!!

What would your 'theme' be?

I am not 100% sure, but we are planning on doing one for our 10 year anniversary. I am thinking russian empirial.....very decadent and ornate.

Re: If you could have a second wedding....
There are two other dream weddings I would have.
I would have gone the other extreme from Vineyard, and had a very chic, Manhattan loft wedding. Mermaid style slim dress, sleek chignon, and everyone partying in a big white loft with the Manhattan skyline 360 degrees around the room. A band instead of a DJ, and thousands of flowers everywhere decorating the room.
Then, the complete opposite of that - our REAL dream wedding was a hippie clambake on the beach. I would have had a simple, flowing white dress, barefoot, flowers in my hair, DH in khaki pants and an open flowing linen shirt. Everyone would party to the sounds of a rock and roll band around a bonfire while eating lobster. mmm.....
maybe when we renew our vows in 25 years!

Re: If you could have a second wedding....
Our wedding was very classic and traditional. I'd do it all the same...except I'd make it at Raphael!
And maybe I'd wear a straighter gown to go with the 'new' venue...but I LOVED my gown!

I would have the same beach theme but if I had the $$, I'd hire someone to coordinate it.

I think I would do the Christmas theme again...but I wouldn't mind having it at Oheka Castle

Re: If you could have a second wedding....
I would have had a destination wedding, on the beach, barefoot, very few people. Our wedding was waaaaaaaay bigger than I wanted it and although it was great fun, I would have a much more intimate, more casual affair if I were to do it all over again.

I would have loved to do the whole Vegas with Elvis thing. Or get married in some tropical island.

Re: If you could have a second wedding....
I would not have had it on LI - thats for sure.
Although I am happy with what I made of it, I wanted something totally different. Maybe a small destination wedding somewhere or near the winery where we got engaged - not the cookie cutter LI wedding that I had.

Re: If you could have a second wedding....
we didn't really have a theme, we kept the whole 'love, faith, hope' thing going, but it wasn't a theme per se.
I think I'd make it more elegant/traditional looking.....or just put more effort into it all. Our wedding was very casual and I would have changed so many things.

I would not change a thing. I really loved the way it turned out. I was amazed to see all my visions unfold exactly as I envisioned.

Dh and I would have it in Key West on top of the La Concha Hotel @ sunset, very casual.
