If you had a band at the wedding
Re: If you had a band at the wedding
I only gave a list of about 10 songs on the must play list if I remember. I gave another 'stuff we like' list so the band could get an idea of what our style was but we trusted them to select music in that 'style'.

I second the DO NOT play list. Mine was HUGE, I am a music snob. I gave my band a list of about 40 songs I wanted to hear and we went over them, which ones they could/could not play. a bonus they even learned a song for us!
Re: If you had a band at the wedding
We gave our band a list of about 8 special songs including our first and second dance song, parent dance songs and last 2 songs for the night. We didn't control their every move, because if you hire a good band they can judge what works and doesn't work with your guests. Oh, I did give them about 15 DO NOT play songs that I just hate such as the electric slide and Mariah Carey and Celine Dion stuff. So I probably gave them more NOT to play than TO play. They gave us a huge listing of songs and told us to mark up the list. But in the end, they played wonderful songs and NONE of the stuff I hate.
Re: If you had a band at the wedding
I gave zero songs to the MC as a 'must play' list.
Re: If you had a band at the wedding
I told my band leader no stupid dances (chicken, electric slide, etc)- otherwise- he was an excellent judge of how the guests were feeling in terms of dancing, etc.

Thanks, Girls

About 10 for the 'must play' generic list. There are also specific songs for specific dances/moments we also noted in our play list contract as well. Your band should also have a song play list contract in addition to your regular contract. Check with them.
