Ok I got this spot on my arm - like a pimple and it has grown into a large quarter sized red spot with teeny tiny bumps. I thought it was ring worm or a fungus and put over the counter medicine and then also tried presciption medicine on it and its still there after 2 weeks. I had showed it to the dermo when it was just a bump and he wasn't sure what it was and thought maybe eczema. Ok so now I have 10 new tiny bumps on my stomach and back and have been using antifungal cream but it seems I get a new bump every day.
So I go back to the dr and he still isn't sure what it is and biopsies it - which takes 10 days! Until then I have to keep using antifungal cream and have an internal fungal cream nizoral.
Anyway I am totally freaked out and my mom and dh are starting to think this guy doesn't know his ****. He is an Phys Asst (I always see PAs). So anyway do I go get a 2nd opinion like tomorrow or wait? I am totally annoyed and very upset and can't stop crying. I hate biopsies, I hate when things r wrong, my DHs flight is delayed by 6 hrs and I am supposed to work out, cook, bake and I feel like a messssss. Uggghhhhh I just want to scream!!!!!!!

Re: if you've ever had a rash - pls help
I have excema. The rash does sound like excema but I don't think it pops up the way you're describing it. Every winter I get it in a new spot but it's not like on consecutive days it'll show up in new spots so I'm not sure if it's excema. My excema is red, usually shows up in circles and is dry and itchy. I was a little kid when I first got it and they wouldn't let me back in school until I got a note from my dr because they thought it was ringworm. I would definitely get a 2nd opinion, it sounds like your dr. isn't sure.

Could it be allergies? This past x-mas DH and I got a real tree. Living with my mom, we always had a fake one. My reaction started as one or two small bumbs and then spred to hives. They started on my hands and arms, then I got them on my neck, face and stomach. It took about 3-4 days before the reaction completely came out so maybe you could have come in contact with something you are allergic too. I hated it, so I know how you feel! I'm so sorry

I am sorry Jeanna - I dono what that sounds like I never had that
could be an allergic reaction to something .. ah hard to say think about all the things your doing different.
Also maybe it is just from dryness I have a bit of that going on.. i have tiny little blisters from dryness. Pockets formed b/c I have no moisture left since accutane. Dr. told me to use hydrocortisone. It def helps. Did you try that too?

oh yeah hives. I get them from certain detergents or fabric dryer sheets. But the dr. would probably have recogized them.
You need House!!!

No it doesn't really itch! My initial first thought was hives because I have had them before (on my stomach) but these are red bumps and looks a bit crusty. Plus I haven't changed anything in my routine. I have chekced online and can't seem to find anything except that it still sounds like ring worm so I am following dr orders and putting cream on it and taking oral antibiotic.
Thanks for listening - I think I was just totally freaked out by the biopsie and that he didn't know what it is! I feel like every other dermo I went to always knew what I had right away!

I've never had a rash like that but my mother gets similar irritation. Try using Head and Shoulders as a body wash. That works for her!

cant hurt to ask the dermo and maybe go to a new one this time. fresh eyes is always good.. I go to a guy on the UES - Dr. Avery Scheiner 156 East 79th Street.. maybe you can sneak in an appt during lunch today?
my friend had one and it sorta looked like a pimple and then a few more bumps came after that.. they were on her stomach and side..
well hope it goes away soon!

You can do a little self-diagnosing and put cortisone cream on it and take zyrtec. If it goes away then it was an allergy.
