ILs - OY VEY

ILs - OY VEY

Ok, we all know how disappointed I was with my photographer, and how badly they messed up my day. If you don't, you can read my review, there's a link in my profile.

ANYWAY - MIL was here yesterday and today, and this morning she says 'You know, Rachel, I haven't seen your wedding album yet.'
R:'Actually you have, MIL, because you were one of the first to see it, but you're welcome to look again.'
MIL:'Oh, okay. So how do you feel about the photography studio now that all this time is passed?'
R: 'Well, actually, I'm still pretty annoyed over how much they messed things up on our wedding day.'
MIL: 'Still?'
R: 'Yes, we have a lot of beautiful pictures, but I didn't like how unprofessional they were, how stressed they made me, how rude --'
MIL: 'Well give it another year and then you'll have forgotten all about it. I don't want to relive it anymore.'

Ummm, WHY DID YOU ASK IF YOU DIDN'T WANT TO KNOW?????? And to interrupt me in my own home???

So, does she expect that if people ask, you will change your memory and tell them that everything was great?

DH says that the only way to win with her is to not play. But if I were to lie to her and tell her everything's okay now, then I'd have to sit through 4 hours of 'See, I knew you'd get over it'.

I've run into something like this before. In-law hell I call it.

Next time she asks, just say-it's not up for discussion, you know how I feel about it-can you drop it? Thanks

Excellent suggestion, were I dealing with a rational, sane human being. Seriously, she threw me out of her house once for not wanting to eat Blueberry Pancakes. We could really go on all day.

Thanks for the sympathy, ladies!
