I'm a bad, bad newlywed...

My poor Patrick came home from work sick as a dog. He was vomiting, headachy... the works. And what does his b*tchy wife do?? She makes him a bed on the couch. I feel awful, but I SKEEVE anyone germing up my bed. AND HE IS SUCH A DOLL THAT HE KNEW HOW I FEEL ABOUT MY BED AND WENT WILLINGLY TO THE COUCH! That, of course makes me feel worse.
Go ahead. Tell me what a brat I am.. I deserve it...

Jenn---- Don't be so hard on yourself.!!... Can you put him in the bed and then change the sheets later?... He sounds like such a doll for taking the couch! How is he feeling now? Better, I hope...

You're not a b#tch at all!! You don't want what he has, so he should sleep on the couch!! But then again, when I'm sick, I have to sleep in the bed anyway....!

Teri, me too! My germs in my bed don't bother me half as much as anyone else's germs. LOL

I went into the den to tell him I'd take the couch and he could have the bed, but he and Arnold were sound asleep and I didn't want to disturb them. (And yes, I was glad I didn't have to go through with my act of kindness of letting him have the bed!!! )

I guess I'm in the minority here but I think the sick person gets the bed. I don't think you're evil for doing what you did but when I feel like s*&%, I want to be in the most comfortable place possible. Of course, I just got over 2 days of 103 degree fever so I am talking from recent experience. It was nice (well, not nice but...) to be all holed up in the bedroom with my body aches and chills.

Hope your hubby is feeling better soon. If it's what's going around (and what I just got over) he should be OK within 36-48 hours.

Patrick hasn't left for work yet, which is a bad sign because never takes a day off when he isn't feeling well. I'm wondering if he's going in late or just not going in at all. He must feel like death.

Elizabeth, I agree with you ~ the sick person SHOULD get the bed, unless of course the bed happens to be mine...
Hope you're feeling better!

Tammy, Arnold is the same old Arnold... still punishing us by 'taking care of business' in his crate. On a positive note, since he gets a bath every day, he's the CLEANEST dog in town! We are DEFINITELY going to take him for obedience classes in the summer. Hopefully that will help.

Jenn, you are to much! I'm sure Patrick understands your neurosis ... !

Rob would kill me if I did that to him. He's not as understanding as Patrick ... but it wouldn't bother me anyway!

I hope Patrick feels better soon!

I don't think you're bad Jenn...As long as Patrick can get some rest on the couch, it's not a big deal. Personally, I sometimes find the couch more comfy when I don't feel well. When hubby was sick about a month ago, he willingly took the couch...but that was only b/c the baby is in the bedroom, and he didn't want either one of us to get sick! LOL!

But, as soon as we are settled in the house, the sick person gets the guest room! LOL!

Jenn...Im the same way. If Jay os sick, I dont want to be anywhere near him, but he wants me to baby him. I dont want to be sick.

If Im sick...I just want to be left alone

My DH actually prefers the couch when he's sick! You're too funny! I would do the same thing as you except he goes there on his own without me even asking! When he feels better he comes back to bed. He tells me that he would rather sleep on the couch then wake me up every 15 min with his coughing, going to the bathrom, snoring etc.

He'd probably appreciate it is you make him some soup and tea. I hope he feels better soon!

He's up and around and feeling much better! I may even let him back in bed tonight.
Thanks for your support, my friends!

I don't think you are awful. But if HE told you to hit the couch if you were the sick one I am sure we would all say that he is the bad-guy
