...I howl with laughter when I see these brides to be post about how their wedding will be 'RUINED' if a newborn (less than 3 month old) baby comes. They all say the SAME THING
'the loud music is bad for them'
Honestly, do they think their MOTHER didn't think of that? I just get a kick out of it. If you don't want babies, be a woman & say 'no.' Don't blame the 'loud band.' And will a crying baby REALLY RUIN your wedding? REALLY - RUIN your whole day????
I can't wait till these girl have newborns & get invited to a wedding.

I don't think a a baby should be at a wedding. To me it's not appropriate and that's just my opinion. As far as the 08 post. Was she being dramatic yes, but I remember not so long ago some 07 posts about similar things. All i'm saying is it's easy to sit back now after being married and some having babies to say.....they should be allowed to come. It's a personal decision and I agree she is a bm and has certain responsibilities. If she didn't the only thing seperating here from the guests is her flowers and $400 dress.

Re: I'm am sorry but....
Totally agree that to say it will RUIN your day is alittle overboard, we didnt want ANY kids, the only kid was our RB-which we didnt want either but we got suckered into having him there
But thats besides the point. I dont think it will ruin the day and I think most brides say they dont want 'infants' is b/c they want the parents to be able to have a good time and enjoy themselves. Simple fact though is some moms after 2 month arent ready to leave their child with someone. If we had a guest with a 2 month old and they had to decline b/c they couldnt/wouldnt leave their child with a babysitter then they have to decline.
It is what it is I guess.

I agree with you Caroline - if you want to exclude kids, be honest about the reasons, and don't exaggerate the effect the little ones could have on your day.
We chose to include some kids because we knew that their parents wouldnt' be able to come without them and it was important to us that they be there. This included one of my BMs who had a ONE MONTH OLD daughter. We were nervous about her making the trip but they did great and she was an angel at the ceremony and slept thru the reception. We sat them at a table far from the DJ's speakers.
Quite honestly I think the issue is not the babies, it's the parents. If a baby starts crying at an inopportune time (say, during vows) and the parents don't immediately take the kid out of the room, the rudeness is on them. Kids that age cannot control their behavior. If the parent is in the wedding, you need to find someone who will take good care of your baby during the ceremony - that's what we did and the people watching the baby sat in the last row in case they needed to duck out (they didn't).
I couldn't imagine my day without the kids who came, or their parents who are special to us. And when one of them did let out a little cry right before I walked down the aisle, my first thought was 'aww that;s _____' - not 'OMG this f'ing kid just ruined my day.' That being said, every bride is different, which is why you have to be fair to prospective guests and tell them the truth. Pretending to care about their kid isn't really the right approach.

You guys know me.... I'm not angel & I don't judge but I get annoyed when people act like babies are evil little things that are 'out to get you' on your wedding day. Babies opnly make noice when they NEED something.
I COMPLETELY understand that babies don't belong every\where and is 100% acceptable to say no. The poster asked & I gave my opinion. NOT big deal. Of ANY of you had babies there, you get it.

We had children and babies at our wedding with no regrets. We love all the adorable pics we have of the kids dancing and fun! And we didn't notice any crying during the ceremony or toasts, but of course something like that would be possible. We just felt it was important to have everyone that is important to us share our special day, including our nieces, nephews, and cousins!

Completely agree, we were honest-we said we just didnt want them. PERIOD. There was no beating around the bush.
I had a 7 yo as my ring bearer and Ill be honest we DID NOT want him to be at the wedding. And guess what...he made us CRAZY!!!! Neither his mom nor his dad was in the bp so we were basically stuck watching him and no he wouldnt behave. But this is someones infant, I think that ALL parents get heat b/c of ONE instance that someone experiences where they go to a wedding an a mom brings her infant to the church, baby starts to cry and mom just 'shhhhhhhhhhhh' for 20 minutes....that was enough cause for use NOT to want them. But that is not all parents, alot of parents are respectful of that fact.
If you dont want babies...say i dotn want babies, dont try and act like the babies well being is what is realy on your mind

I think the wedding will suck if your guests are not happy. If the guests don't get what they want they will make up their mind to have an awful time.
The bride wears a huge white dress and has the attention on her all night. Anyone who thinks a 20 pound child is going to steal their thunder has issues. God help them if the baby wears red that kid will get all of the attention.
ITA!! My BMs didn't even hold my dress. When we were in the bridal suite I had my DH so it. How romantic, I know.
