I'm being so silly

I'm being so silly

DH has been at a house fire since 4. He's called me twice to tell me he's okay and still there. We dropped our laundry off today and it needs to be picked up tonight. I can't pick it up myself because I can't lift anything that heavy due to my back issues. I started crying over it. It's so silly, I know. I just get so frustrated when I can't do something myself.

I know exactly how you feel, about suddenly having physical limitations and needing to depend on someone to take care of simple tasks that you feel like you should be able to take care of on your own.

It doesn't matter that its your husband, and that he's happy to do those things for you.

Its a loss of your own independence.

And it doesn't help that I am sure you were worried about him being at that house fire, even though he called to check in and let you know that he's ok.

I hope he got home safe & sound, and you were able to find a solution for your laundry.

I knew you would know how I feel. It's just so frustrating to WANT to do soemthing or NEED to do something, and not be able to. Shaving for example. I can't reach my entire leg, so DH has to help me. He thinks it's cute, but it's annoying that I can't shave when I want to. I keep reminding myself that it's nto as bad as it could be. At least I can walk and do other things myself. There are people far worse off than me.

I ended up going there and asking the woman to carry it to my truck and then DH brought it in when he got home. He did come home safe and sound, but smelling like fire. He had to take 2 showers because the smell makes me sick. News12 aired a story on it because people were trapped before they got there. Thankfully, everyone got out ok.

Thanks for the hugs ladies. Love you all for it.
