I didn't read the post and won't, I don't have the patience. I will say I changed into white ballet slippers, like actual slippers as soon as we got to the RH. And one of the BM's gifts was a pair of ballet type slippers from VS to match their dresses. And had I had the extra $ I would have done a slipper basket for guests.

I would rather have people dancing all night at my wedding and wear slippers, flip flops, socks bare foot whatever, then keep their heels on and have everyone sitting around staring at each other.

Re: im getting slightly annoyed...

I bought like 4 different pairs of flip flops for the day of, trying to convince my mom that one of them would work, but she flatly refused to let me wear any. She said she would allow me to every other decision about the wedding, but she would not have her daughter wearing flip flops with her wedding dress. I was pretty horrified b/c I literally LIVE in flip flops (they're the only shoes I have other than sneakers and Uggs!!), but I gave in...and ended up taking off my shoes after the first dance. She never noticed, obv.

Re: im getting slightly annoyed...

I read that thread last night & was going to respond but was like - it's not even worth my time. You know it's one thing if someone comes dressed as a slob (wearing like ripped jeans & a stained tshirt) to your wedding when your invitation states formal dress or black tie/black tie optional - then I agree that is bad/poor etiquette. But... it is a PERSONAL choice whether a bride wants to herself wear comfortable shoes & provide the option for her guests. I myself did not provide a slipper basket - but to be honest with you I had never heard of that idea until after I got married - I have NEVER been to a wedding where something like that was provided so it was never even a thought that occurred to me. That being said... I wore 4 1/2' heels up until the last 1/2 hour of our reception and then my feet couldnt take it anymore. I changed into Swarovski wedge flip flops & was so thankful I could keep dancing & enjoying an amazing wedding reception with an amazing wedding band - both of which my parents paid a lot of their long hard earned money for. So that's me - does it make me classless? I dont think so - Would I have been more upset had I stayed in my shoes & couldnt stand up or dance for the last 1/2 hour of my reception...you betcha! Half of my guests were barefooted dancing on the dance floor about 1/2 way through the reception...did I care? - nope...it only showed me that our reception & band were THAT good that our guests wanted to keep on dancing even if that meant without shoes! I do wish I had known about slipper/flip-flop baskets beforehand - b/c I am certain my guests would have loved that idea. Either way I am confident in my choices to know that both I & my guests had the time of their lives...no matter what shoes they wore or didnt wear. And that's my 2 cents.

I wouldn't be upset if someone wore flip flops, but if someone wore jeans or a white dress then that person would be escorted out!

I had a white dress person at my wedding...COMPLETELY ALLL WHITE....not even a dash of color...

Re: im getting slightly annoyed...

I could have cared less about the flip flops or whatever... h*ll, I wore SNEAKERS after the church. Most people didn't even know... And man, I totally did not even begin to look at what my guests were wearing on their feet.

Finally seeing this. Even though my shoes were comfy and I could dance in them all night, I still changed into my flip flops. O P.S. 2 of my girls wore flip flops for the WHOLE DAY
