Re: i'm really NOT a brat but
The good news is you're allowed to grumble as much as you'd like while you do it!

Re: i'm really NOT a brat but
if they say something to you, just reply with 'oh, well we wrote out all the thank yous based on the cards we received. i guess you didn't send one.'
ok...but in reality, i'd send them one anyway...i'm too nice.

Re: i'm really NOT a brat but
IMO yes, send them a TY for coming and sharing in your joy. You invited them to your wedding, there was no fine print about having to bring a gift. I know it's kinda implied so I'm not excusing it, but I would be the bigger person and send them a short TY.

Re: i'm really NOT a brat but
yes i know i'll prob cave and do it too but right now i'm not. thanks for letting me vent. i'm supposed to have lunch with one of them tomorrow and she's a friend/coworker of mine - i can barely look at her - i'm that boggled about this.
this is the type of person who insists on making a big to-do about her bday every year, picks ridiculous expensive places to have it etc... (our treat since its her bday) and then doesn't acknowledge a good friend's wedding AND she asked and did bring a guest too. i just don't get it. i am so tempted to say something but won't - what could i say?

Re: i'm really NOT a brat but
I did. I am still happy they were there with us to celebrate. Although I won't lie that i did grumble about not recieving anything from these people (including the best man )
ETS: I also hoped by sending the TY that it would 'remind' these people about their gifts - especially the one who has told me a million times he forgot it, but has it, and the one whose check bounced - but so far I guess my 'reminder' hasn't worked.

suck it up and send it out. Was it wrong what they did, YES, but think of it this was for 39 cents, you will keep the peace

Re: i'm really NOT a brat but
I am lucky...we got a gift or card from everyone (who showed up)...only one person we invited didn't give anything, but they had ordered something which is supposed to be coming through Fedex...so really we did get something from them too...I wouldn't send a thank you, but that is just me...

Maybe it will get lost in the mail like their card to you did?

Re: i'm really NOT a brat but
What if it's a nun that didn't give a card? My mom works at a Catholic HS and one of the nuns came & gave..none.
