Re: Investigation ties pet chain to 'puppy mills'
Just wanted to post this for those that might go to a pet chain to adopt a dog...thinking that it is better than going to a puppy mill.
When my DH was interning at LIVS, a woman brought her Sheltie (a couple of months old) to LIVS because he was hit by a car. There was a lot of nerve damage in one shoulder. The doctors couldn't do much for the dog. So, the woman didn't want the dog. My DH decided to bring him home. The dog has use of 3 legs (two back legs and one front leg). He is such a great dog. We've had him for about 5 years now.

Awww, poor dog...so glad he found your DH...and you! I ended up with my Chihuahua that way. Someone must have dumped her on the street because something was wrong with her...so heartless. When I took her to the vet I found out she needed surgery and it ended up costing me a lot of money. I ended up having her for many years. I'm so glad yor DH took the dog otherwise this person may have done the same thing.

We have a number of cats too. All have been rescued..most of them from the Vet hospital. They give us so much.

All of my pets have always been strays, except for my second dog which my sister bought when our first dog died. I've always believed, that pets find us. My DH just surprised me a couple of weeks ago with a kitten he found...well, found him. He's so cute and so affectionate!
