Is anyone else THRILLED wedding planning is over??

I swear I popped onto the BHB board just to look around and I want to cry for anyone still going through that process. lol. Maybe I'm weird b/c I really didn't love the whole planning process (plus we did a destination wedding which just adds to the stress). My friends kept telling me I'd be SOO depressed once all the planning was over....um...no!! I'm more depressed that Christmas is over! lol....I am so excited to have all that nonsense behind me and I really want to burn my planning book!
Am I alone here? lol...

I have to say I am with you, happy it is over! As much as it was all worth it, I really don't miss that headache and the tedious decisions, the aggrevation from families, having my life revolve around it. I am happy it has come and gone! Sometimes I wish I could have the day back just to take it all in again but skip the planning! Everyone said I would be sad too but nope not so sad lol...but we have baby planning now so I guess it is keeping me occupied!

your Semi-alone. i see BHB boards and how hopping the 09 board is and i miss that. I miss all the updates and i miss getting excited for this weekend brides. I miss the running around i did and i miss haveing something to talk about.... i feel like now that the wedding is over i have nothing to talk aboiut with anyone. for a year and a half all I did was give people updates or vent to people etc... i really would do it all again in a heart beat, only i would not stress as much, funny thing is other brides told me not to stress but i still did... i guess it is a rite of passage LMAO

I'm not thrilled its over BUT i am happy things are back to normal and now we can focus on other things.....

I guess in a way its kind of sad just because the day was so great and I know we would both love to do it all over again - and when people ask we both agree that we would 100% do it all over again b/c we both enjoyed the anticipation and planning....

I don't know, I guess I am just indifferent about it....I'm not happy its over and I'm not sad its over....I have amazing photos to look at, I am working on editing some of my proofs myself which is so much fun, I'm really getting into photoshop, I'm making an awesome album for DH and I and albums for our parents as gifts, I have tons of scrapbooking I want to do (from engagement - honeymoon) and we still are waiting for our video which I am sure will be exciting as well, we both are looking foward to that - especially DH.....so I guess it doesnt really feel 'over' b/c I am still occupied with wedding things....

We are also doing some house hunting which keeps the mind pretty occupied - something new to daydream about

I know some people get really sad when its over - I guess maybe I could see why, but I think that we were more excited to be husband and wife and that was more important to us than anything else - so we didn't get that consumed by it....but then again I am still on this site - so maybe I am consumed by it?

At first i was soooo glad it was over, but now I kind of miss it...Luckily my friend is getting married in about a year and I'm her BM so Im helping her as much as I can...

I do want to relive that day again though, it went by tooo quickly!!

I am thrilled it's over. Too much stress, it ruined my relationship with my MIL. That plus living with them also added to the animosity I feel towards her.

I am not a girly girl, so I haven't dreamed about this my whole life, and I never really thought I would get married. So to do all of the planning was fun, but extremely stressfull b/c I didn't know what I wanted and I wasn't sure if everything was going to look like I wanted it to in the end.

I do not miss it lol

I do agree it was all 100% worth it, and I would do anything to relive that day as it was amazing (and it went by tooooo quickly plus there are some more pics I wanted to take and more people I wanted to chat with!)....but if I never have to look at another bridal magazine again...I will die a happy woman!

I am with you. I never thought I would miss it but I do. Even though I complained since I was going to school and working as well. But I would do it all over again.

I think I just miss the actual day much more than the planning. It really was the best day of my life by far. DH says the same thing we were talking about it so mcuh on the honeymoon how we wanted to re-live the day over.

i hear ya....

i don't really understand how people could be so sad that its over - i mean like i said i had a great planning experience and would love to re-live the day but some people say they don't know what to do with themselves and they feel depressed that its over - that is kind of weird to me im actually less sad than i thought i would be......i have so much more to look foward to in life KWIM?

My mom said the same thing, that I would go into depression when the wedding was over because I wouldn't be planning anymore... AND I have to say, I honestly dont miss the stress of it all. I think what helps is that I am in 3 weddings this year (a BM twice and a MOH), and I know I'm a BM for one in 2010. SO I'm living through my friends and helping them plan, but since its not MY wedding, I dont have the stress!

ditto, I wouldnt want to do it all over again. Im happy to be back to 'normal' life and glad things have settled down. Dont get me wrong, it was awesome, Im just so happy that its over.

ugh, i can't wait for our friends to start getting married - ive been praying someone will get engaged soon.....there are 2 girls in my office that i am dying for them to get engaged already.....and of course my best friend - i would LOVE for her to get engaged soon too!! especially b/c i think she wants a destination wedding!!!
