IS there any one person (besides your family/DH) who said something that made you SO Happy on the BIG DAY?

Our Best Man....said to me....Wow, when I get married, I hope my Wife is as special and beautiful as you are, and i hope our realtionship is as fun and loving as yours and Dans....


That was so special of him to say, and made my glow even brighter!

But my jr. BM was sooo cute in the morning when we were getting ready...Amongest the craziness and my rants and raves ..my jr. BM stopped me and said..'don't worry, everythig will be ok!' and then later, after my make-up was on she said...'she looks sooo pretty'. It made all my worrying go right out the window!

imo...A childs perspective is sooo much more truthful than an adult!

Well someone did say something to me, that made me extremely happy, but it was not on my wedding day. I recently, went to a wedding (friends of DH) this weekend, and I was talking to the bride and groom, then she paused for a moment, and said to me, 'I absolutely LOVED YOUR WEDDING!!!!! . I could not believe it!!!! Who goes around, complimenting people about their wedding when it is actually there wedding day.

I personally felt, I had a lovely wedding not to say, because it was my own wedding, it was just that I suffered so much in all the planning, that GOD made it extremely special for me. I even had a rainbow appear on my way to the reception hall. It was so grand.

WOW! I saw a rainbow when we first woke up on our honeymoon...the first morning we woke up!!

I forgot, my 4 year old nephew climbed up in DHs chair when DH was getting something and sat next to me, and asked me if I was Ok now...(had an emotional moment about 20 mins before)

That was THE SWEETEST thing to hear from him...he gave me a hug and a kiss on the cheek and it made everything FINE!

Actually two friends of mine were getting married two weeks later and the soon to be groom said 'I can only hope are wedding is as great as yours' Totally unexpected and made me and DH feel so good.

Not what he said but what he did - my dad was able to walk me down the aisle. He had very serious spinal surgery 14 months before the wedding and was paralyzed from the waist down aferwards. He was told it could take a couple of years before he would walk again. My dad went to physical therapy every day so he could walk me down the aisle (with a cane) and he did!!!

That is the greatest! I am sure you have wonderful memories of those moments walking down the aisle!

So glad your dad was able to walk you down the aisle and dance with you.. what an amazing man, and so lucky to have you for his daugher

One of the guys in our wedding party (who is a big partier) and one of my close guy frineds both said it was the best and most fun wedding they have ever been to. I was really touched by that....

I was at my house getting ready with my mom and bms. My FIL called from the hotel (he is 6ft 4in, very big and tough - he is a contractor and can be intimidating when you first see him), well he called and welcomed me to the family and was crying and told me how much he loves me - needless to say I was soon also hysterical crying, I still get teary eyed when I think about all that he said!

Aside from the family/bridal party, our photographers complimented me on being so calm

And of course the priest made me cry when he talked about me and DH's 'darling Juliet'

Our Best Man (DH's best friend since he was 5) said in his speech that he would now gladly step down as DH's best friend.
His entire speech was incredible

At the end of the wedding, all the centerpieces were broken down and flowers were given to all the women. My cousin's 9 year old daughter, who doesn't know me well, came up to me, handed me a rose, and said, 'This is for you because you didn't get any.' It was just sooo sweet!

Well there were so many special things said by everyone that made me so happy on the big day. I was flabbergasted at how sweet and genuinely happy people were for us, and how much they seemed moved by our ceremony, as well as how much they enjoyed our reception!

But for me, it wasn't something said DIRECTLY to me. It was something I overheard a friend of DH's say to another of his friends (these were all DH's 'single pals' that he would go barhopping and 'carousing' with, so to speak )

Friend #1 said to Friend #2 , 'I never thought he (DH) would ever get married, did you? But its so cool, because I've never seen him happier since the day he met her (me).. and today he's on cloud 9

DH isn't very complimentary, but when he first saw me he told me how beautiful I looked and the look in his eyes said even more.
This didn't make as happy as it did surprised, but BIL's fiance actually told me I looked beautiful. It's literally the only compliment I've ever gotten from her in almost four years that they've been dating. It must have taken a lot out of her because she didn't say another word to me all night and didn't even say goodbye to me and DH when she left. Oh well, i guess you've got to take what you can get when it comes to some people.
