So I know that I now have like one of the longest last names on the planet, but WHY is it that when I've been shopping and people at registers ask me to be in their store 'club' or whatever and I say 'sure!' and then they ask my name and I start to say 'Natalie S----- Trrrro.........'Then they cut me off and say 'telephone number?' And I have to go back and say 'No you didn't get my full name' And they get an ATTITUDE!!!!! But its like if they don't put my FULL name it won't match my drivers license or CCs.
Okay vent over....and online too....the boxes sometimes aren't big enough so its missing letters.
Anyone else out there with a 90 character name now having this issue????

I just took DH's name, I'm not hyphenating, and my new last name is only 2 letters longer than my last, but people are having a REALLY hard time with it because it's Greek and has 6 vowels in it haha. When I've said it on the phone I've gotten pretty rude comments like oh I'm not even going to bother to spell that right. Excuse you???

I dont use both... I dropped my maiden so no, def not having that kinda issue... but then again, I always tell them no i dont want whateever they are offering lol... you are a shopoholic arent you?!?!

Yeah I just had that happen to me today - I hyphenated my name too - and when I told this person my name she kept introducing me to other people just as my first part of the hyphen!

I haven't changed my name yet. I am not changing it until next fall because a district that my family has a strong and good reputation at might have two openings in my dept next fall and the teachers there suggested I keep it until after. Anything to get a job.

Awww I don't think Drinkwater is bad at all......at my moms job someone's paperwork went across her desk and their name was 'Mommy Easter'...you read correctly 'Mommy Easter'.

Mine is longer... now its harder when I sign for purchases bc I dont want to spend the time to write the whole name properly, so now I write the 1st letter and scribble the rest

I can't believe they asked you hyp on the phone. Some ppl are I lucked out too. I went from a long Italian name to a short Irish one. Everyone spells it right.

I got that with my maiden name. Greek and long and people, especially over the phone, will always automatically address me by my first name and kinda laugh when i say it and make some snarky comment about spelling it..
