ok so my neice is in preschool...the other day she got a note home saying it was teacher appreciation day and they'suggest' all kids bring a gift for the teacher and the 2 paras...i was a liitle put off by that but whatever every teacher deserves a small gift now and then right
ok it also said to bring in a snack or soda...my sis is the type to bring in chps,bake cupcakes etc etc..
so she gets to school,she has cupcakes,drinks for the kids and chips..the teacher goes ohh thanks the teachers are going to love this..my sis goes what do u mean?arent u having a party in the classroom?the teacher says no..the snacks are for the teachers who are celebrating after school??
ok is that not strange to send a note home asking for snacks for a teacher only party??

That is soooooo odd. I would ask to speak with the principle of the school about that. Basically the teachers wanted a party but didn't want to foot the bill.

That sounds pretty stupid....... Maybe in the teachers' defense, was this maybe sponsered by the parents in the PTA? Maybe nothing much to do with the teachers? Still weird though, as a teacher I would feel funny even giving those notes out.......

i have to agree with this!! it really sounds as though the teachers wanted a party and figured it was on the parents dime. strange. i've never heard of such a thing. i mean it's one thing to appreciate teachers.. but be upfront from the beginning... we want gifts and food for our teachers only party.
i'd def bring it to the principal's attention. it's really rude.
