Re: is your dh a chilvalrist?
Uhhh, no. Since his mommy groomed him to be a sniveling whiny momma's boy who couldn't wipe his own butt before he met me. Do for me? Hardly when he's just getting around to doing for himself!

Re: is your dh a chilvalrist?
he opens the door for me - every time! (not to the car though - only when we valet and he wants to look chivalrous!). He is really good with OTHER women - never lets a lady stand at a bar or subway, - always lets women cut him off on the road, no cursing in front of girls....he's sweet that way!

Re: is your dh a chilvalrist?
so/so. He'll open regular doors for me, the car door from the inside if he's picking me up. He'll carry the heavier packages. He'll tell me to walk around the puddle

Re: is your dh a chilvalrist?
Len does it all. He's a true gent. The only thing he's slacks on lately is the Car door. Everything else is pure chilvary. Makes me walk on the inside, opens all doors, carries anything slightly heavy for me, puts my coat on. I love when he put s my coat on for me, or when it's chilly and he gives me his jacket, and he always offers me the last bite of his food

Re: is your dh a chilvalrist?
Nick has his good days and his bad days. He is pretty good about opening the car door for me, however, I wouldn't want him to lay his jacket over a puddle, even if it was for me to walk over, b/c I would get stuck cleaning it

Re: is your dh a chilvalrist?
Liz, did you see the movie 'The Brothers'There was a scene when the mother says- you know when a man really loves you- He offers you the last bite of food.
fH does this all the time. I say no though
He makes me walk on the inside, carries heavy passages. He is not bad - I think I will keep him.

Re: is your dh a chilvalrist?
My guy is very good and I love it. Very rarely though he will help me with my coat, but I love when he does that! Recently his 13 year old cousin came to visit from Denver and I have never in my life seen a teenyboper who is so much of a gentleman! Maybe it's genetic?!?!

Re: is your dh a chilvalrist?
not really, but I actually prefer that. I'm a big girl and can open up my own doors!
Seriously though, at times it is nice for him to be attentive and thoughtful, but for the most part, I like being independent.

Re: is your dh a chilvalrist?
My husband is pretty good about that. Gets doors etc...offers his seat to women. The car door thing is pretty much gone unless we are going out for a dressy occasion or having date night. I just recently noticed this. Otherwise it is every man for him/herself!

Re: is your dh a chilvalrist?
My DH is Sir Galahad himself. He gets all my doors, including car doors. Pulls out chairs, helps me with my coat, carries anything no matter how heavy or light it is, offers me his coat, makes me walk on the inside, and offers me the last bite of food.
He even carried me over a puddle once! I was shocked, but he just grabbed me before I knew what was happening!
Want to hear something really sickening? You know those little butter squares you get at restaurants for your bread? Well, he warms them up in his hands to make them nice and soft, and sometimes even butters my bread!!! The first time he did this I nearly died! LOL. One time he asked me if I would like him to cut my meat!!! I drew the line at that, though. That's a little too much!
Someone once told him that he was 'too nice' and that's why he kept getting crapped on by women. Until he met me! I actually appreciate his chivalrous qualities. I've been with enough Cavemen, thank you!

Re: is your dh a chilvalrist?
Yep. John's pretty big on a few chivalrous gestures. ALWAYS: opens the door for me, even if it's just EASIER that I open it, sometimes its even annoying that he has to grab it before I get there
Carries anything needed to be carried, gets my coat at a restaurant. When we were dating, I had to SNEAK if I wanted to pay for dinner once in a while. He'd get SOO angry. Also in public, he'll let EVERYONE go while he holds the door (hate that!
). Lets the line pile up if we're getting food at a wedding or something, and makes sure theres NO WAY he even possibly skipped someone (I, on the other hand, might go squeeze myself in at the front
, but he ruins that pleasure for me
