Now that we have a house is trying to learn and he wants to be - I just can't see it happening. I think I may be more handy them him. Hopefully my dad and brother will rub off on him.

I was going to ask the same question Jenn! DH is not handy at all Now that we have our own home - we really need him to be ... but he's scared to death to touch anything. I'd say I'm probably more handy than he is . I want to try to do things ourselves - that's the only way to learn!

He is absolutely dangerous - 10 thumbs as they say. At least he knows it and doesnt try to do anything that will get him in trouble.
I dont understand it. 2 of his brothers have completely rebuilt thier homes Decks, Kitchen, Bathrooms you name it. The handyman gene just skipped him. But he makes up for it in other ways.
Luckily my Brother is very handy and willing to help us out and our Best Man is a custom builder so we get help and guidance from him as well.

DH is pretty handy. I don't think he's as handy as he thinks he is so that leads to a couple of little things going wrong (like lights that won't turn off, etc) but it's a whole lot more then I can do:)

My DH is handy, but not as handy as he thinks he is. So many things that he has 'fixed' were better off before he messed with it

Yup, Roger can do everything, lay carpet, lay flooring, paint, sew, fix cars, fix a flat, if only it didn't take him forever to move I would be a happy woman in a mansion.
He laid the linoneum in our kitchen, he laid the carpet in the house, he hung the curtains in the living room, he sewed his own curtains. Please do not tell him that I told you all this, it is our secret.
He is good at everything. I struck gold when I met him. He can even do a little masonry work. He is very hands on. He changes the oil in the car, the breaks every darn thing. Its just to get him to do it that is my problem

My hubby owns a general contracting co. so he is definitely handy! Now the only problem is getting him to stop fixing everyone else's homes and start fixing his own!

Scott is learning, but he is not exactly handy just yet. His dad never did a darn thing around the house so he is now learning from my semi-handy dad and my best friend's super handy dandy husband. I call her husband my own personal 'Synder'

He's handy, but the problem is he only has 2 speeds: he either procrastinates where you need to light a match under his a$$ or he does things too quickly!!! There's no happy medium. And I better be lighting that match soon because he has some major stuff to be doing before this little Bear Cub comes along!!!!!

Surprisingly, yes. I was really worried about all the big plans he had for the house, because he's sort of a computer nerd and I really couldn't imagine him being handy around the house. So far he's done a lot of the electrical stuff and nothing has blown up...he also plans on finishing the basement...we'll see how that goes.
