Around the house?
John is great!

He does incredible tile work, he has done alot of bathrooms on the side, I need to post pics (& find the pics first).

He also does some electrical, painting, flooring, plumbing etc...

He almost does it all!

My BIL is the house bulider (kitchens, decks etc you name it)

Betweent the 2 of them, I am so lucky to have them be so handy for when we become homeowners!!

Yes, I didn't give him the nickname Handy Dan-dy for nothing!!

Is it just me or is anyone elses hubby famous for starting a million jobs around the house and never finishing them? Hubby is famous for that. I think he goes full steam ahead and then gets bored and new ideas pop in his head and he moves to that job!

Re: Is your DH handy?

OMG YES! I married a very handy man! He built me our entertainment center (copied it right out of Eathan Allen- and then modified it for our needs) and is now in the process of building me a hutch for our kitchen that will have copper counter top, draws, shelves, and a glass hutch that will show off my dishes. I will post pics in the next day or so of what he has done. He should have been a carpenter! I am so proud of him~! Also, he built me our kitchen cabinets and is in the process of planning a brick BBQ complete with a fridge!

Not so much! I am the one that drags him to Home Depot for supplies! I think he will start to learn though now with the house and all. It is wierd becuase his dad is Mr. Fix It and he isn't really into it.

Re: Is your DH handy?

Yes and no, he is a plumber but only for about 3 years now and he is learning...he grew up in a house that his parents paid everyone to do any kind of job whereas I didn't so we clash when I want to change things...he is coming along, he replaced out bathroom faucet and just recently our kitchen faucet and has ripped out our ugly shower doors. Give me a few more years with him and he will be Bob Villa!

Extremely handy. He's also maticulously neat, organized, and anal about detail.
I think he may be a girl!

Re: Is your DH handy?

Yeah, one of the reasons why I'm marrying him. My father and family are very handy (aka do-it-yourselfers) and there's no way I could marry a guy who was any other way. Besides, if you want to fit into my family, you better be able to fix something!

I love a man who know's how to get his hands dirty.

My FI likes to think he is, but in all honesty...No he's not! He also works so much that he never had the amount of time requried to do a 'job'.

Jenny5150, me too ... I love that Rob is so handy and so into it too. We spent $20K to do the inside of our house, if we had to hire someone, it would have been an easy $60 - $70K. My father is Mr. Do it All - so he's teaching my DH everything and Rob loves it!

He’s extremely handy. If he weren’t, we would not have been able to afford a house in this market because we wouldn’t have been able to buy the handy man special.

Yes, DH is very handy. He is not afraid to fix anything. He loves to do wood work, he built his parents a beautiful cedar picinic table and benches for their backyard. I can't wait until we have a house, he has so many plans to build us furniture and he can't wait to start.
