Its my birthday

and no one called. I know I'm not 12 anymore but when your birthday is New Years, its kind of hard to forget. For the past 34 years, my phone has rung off the hook at midnight with happy new year/happy birthday calls. This year - nuttin'. As if turning 35 wasn't depressing enough, no one remembered. I mean DH woke me up at midnight to say it (yes, we are losers & we were asleep). Other than that, I got ONE text message from a friend I haven't spoken to in over a year. He was the only one.

Sorry for the pity party. I'm just kind of bummed.

I understand how you feel...my birthday was a few days before the wedding and it was like it didn't exist. I was surprised how disappointed I was! I felt like Sam in 16 Candles!

I sorta understand-not exactly but sorta. My birthday is January 26th and when it fell on a Sunday in the past, it was always on or around the Superbowl. That was before they changed the superbowl time of course, I was actually born Superbowl Sunday. I HGATE football and even more because the years when my birthday fell around game time, lmao my damn candles would MELT waiting for he guys to peel themselves from the TV to sing Happy Birthday. Instead of gifts I got nachos lol....

I'm so sorry you're feeling down, do you think some people didn't call so that they would not wake up Ella??? I know I am really SENSITIVE about my mommy friend's sleep, and I regularly talk myself out of calling them after 9pm cause I don't want to wake the babies, or THEM if they're sleeping???

Second, if it makes you feel any better, I felt exactly like you do exactly one week ago. My birthday is Christmas day and I'd say that's a really hard day to forget but of course, people did. THis was probably THE saddest birthday I've had in terms of people calling or helping to celebrate. We ended up doing my birthday dinner on the 26th and that was a bit better, but it's weird how not getting phone calls at midnight can make you sad!
