JENN! Peteysbride

I need your help!! When using layers in photoshop (i have corel) how are you making the images actually blend? Like for example....when I use a picture that is horizontal and overlay it with a picture that is vertical you can always see the edge of the top picture on the bottom picture...does that make sense? Where the top picture ends you see that line...its annoying the hell out of me b/c I cant get it to blur or blend or disappear no matter what I do!!

Hope you can help me...Im about to beat the crap out of my computer

I did that but you can still see where the picture that is on top ends...like there is a dark line-can I even do anything about that?

Jenn was out tonight so I know she didn't get a chance to come online.

On another note, I really want to learn how to better use Photoshop!

I could be wrong, but I believe it was HeatherRose who recommended using YouTube to search for tutorials on using Photoshop. Apparently you can learn how to do anything by watching the different tutorials - I haven't tried it yet, but I heard it's great! I'd love to learn how to do some cool effects.

I have the online tutorials...those I have done some cool stuff with. The videos I cant watch-I lose my patience too quick Thats why i DLed Corel, its the same thing but easier. The only problem tho is if you dont really know how to use certain things you cant do anything. I can layer the pictures, airbrush stuff, take the weird things out of pictures, etc. and it actually has some cool effects...now Im stuck on two pictures put together-blurring the edges of the two Ill figure that out, I figure out the whole line in the middle thingie, I guess it just takes time

Peggy sorry-JUST saw this now. I was out all night. I have some really good tutorials saved if you need them. Just tell me what you're looking for and I can either FM or email you the links.

did you figure it out? What version of Photoshop are you using? Blending takes some pratice because its a matter of eraising, opacities and burnign things but anyone can learn to do it. Let me know if you need help!

Re: JENN! Peteysbride

the easiest way to do what you're doing is selecting the photo that u want to 'blur' the edges. dont select the entire photo... select the inside of it. leave maybe an 1/8th inch around.

go to Select, then Inverse

Now go to Select, then Feather.
put in 15 or so... [trial & error] and hit enter

now hit the Delete button on your keyboard.. It should feather out the edges. U might still see a hard line, so just keep hitting delete until u get the results u want. OR go back to feather and put in higher and lower #s until you get what you like.

It might sound complex but its really the easiest & fastest way to do it, rather than going in by hand and blurring it

HTH!

I have CS3 (I think that is it) and I kind of figured it out but you can still see the edge-slowly its going away. Basically what i didi was take the pictureof my invitiation (horizontal) and put the picture of my dress hanging (vertical) over it on the left side....but you can see where the dress picture ends...I figured out how to change the opacity etc. but that line is still there. Then when I put two pictures together-just bumpingthe edges I cant get them to blur or anything at the edge this is the part making me nuts now

Thanks Jenn
