Jenn's post on cheapos
got me thinking.....What's your feeling on No-shows(meaning invited, said they'd come, DID NOT have any emergency, and then don't show) Should they send you a gift in the mail? What's your opinions?

I had 2 of these - I suspected they would not show. One was having transportation problems the other one is just a looser. He never sent the RSVP in, when I called him about the respones he said 'you got my verbal didn't you Im bringing a guest. The day of no show he nver sent a card gift - nothing. And this guy definately can afford a gift. The other person sent a card and note of apology which was fine.
I had two couples who did this but they both sent me gifts (the same they would have given me if they came).
I had so many no-shows, you don't even want to know. I think the least they could is send a gift. They're lucky I don't ask them for the cost of their meal . I actually am very upset about it. I think they should call and apologize too. Its so rude on so many levels. It wastes your money, it keeps you from inviting other people who would have been more considerate. I had a couple of guests who wrote in the names of their guests on the RSVP and then came without those people. Some of Shaun's family knew the weren't coming 1 week before the wedding and no one called to let us know. I still don't know what happened to the others. I'm sorry for the tirade but it drives me crazy. They are so lucky I didn't call and tell them all off.
They should be kind enough to at least send a card, even if empty, or call & apologize!
I agree with Jenn. They definetely should.
