I'm not saying to only have separate accounts, but I was considering leaving my current one open just to have a little money for XMAS gifts, etc. that he doesn't know about.
He said that 'we are married and that a joint checking account is what married people do!' lol..I love him for his stubborness!!![]()
We've been together for 10 years and have shared money and acted married for much of that time so I'm just having a difficult time wrapping my head around a new $ situation..not opposed to it, tho.

We have a joint account which has all of our wedding gifts. We don't plan to touch that until we buy a house. We kept our separate accounts b/c it's easier that way. What's mine is his and vice versa, but technically everything is still separate.
