Re: Just curious!!! VOTE
My vote is for Hillary. I'm sure I will be flammed for this but here it goes anyway....
I personally liked Bill Clinton as President and think he did an Awesome job. Just because he had an affair does not mean he was a bad President. Definitely a BAD husband, but that was between him and Hillary. If she is able to forgive him and make their marriage still work then more power to them. I think having 2 people in the White House that know how to run the country (rather than 2 that are in there now that don't know a DAMN thing) is a great choice. I had read that Obama is part Muslim and that he refuses to recite the Pledge of Allegiance and that he also will not face our flag... he turns his back to it. Now I know this is probably not true but that still makes me think about it and wonder??? I think the Republicans are out this year!!!!!

I am supporting Hillary. I like Obama too but I tend to think that Hillary has more experience and is better prepared to handle the demands of the presidency right now. Hillary has been on the Armed Services Committee for many years now and she does have a very successfull track record on getting legislation passed and working across party lines. She has won my support and has represented NY very well in DC. (I would not mind a Clinton/Obama ticket but I think the past few weeks have caused a tremendous riff between them. But, a girl can dream, can't she? ) I agree with their platforms on healthcare, workers rights , trade, taxes and Iraq, so I could not imagine voting for anyone either than one of those two.
It does seem that McCain is going to win the Republican nomination and they have to be concerned about that. He's in his 70s already and while I respect him, the social conservatives have major issues with his position on immigration and have flamed him for months on their talk shows. It will be interesting to see how they deal with it going forward and how they deal with someone who has always been considered a maverick. I would imagine that he is going to have to pick someone like Huckabee to satisfy the conservatives in his party.

You are right none of this stuff is true. I'm not a fan of Obama and won't be voting for him anytime soon but some people may read this and make decisions based on what they read. I'm not sure why rumors you admit may not be true would make you wonder about someone. Obama spoke about these rumors at the Democratic Candidates' Debate on January 15, 2008. Source

i actually thought Bill Clinton was a decent president as well! NOW - i probably will get flamed for this, BUT i'm actually really leary on having a female president. I honestly feel that it's in a woman's nature to sub-consiously let her emotions get involved in decision making...which can actually be a good thing - but not always as a president. Maybe i'm sounding stupid, but a close friend brought this up to me, and i''ve brought this up to other people(women included)& they've agreed saying 'wow - i never even thought of that.'. we can't help it as women - its in our blood - it's in our hearts. that's what makes us women & that's what makes us so great. But sometimes there are RASH decisions that need to be made in presidency that i'm not sure a woman would necesarily be ready to make.

Re: Just curious!!! VOTE
We have a saying on Capitol Hill-
'Be a work horse; not a show horse.'
Clinton = work horse Obama = show horse
Just yesterday the National Journal rated Obama as the most liberal member of the Senate. That's not good for a general election, particularly with the Kennedy endorsement. Clinton was #16 on that list. It also gave a side by side comparison of how they voted on key votes, and I have to say, there were way more than a few that Obama didn't even show up for.
While I love McCain for a variety of reasons, I am for Clinton on the Dem side. It may appear as though she has flip flopped on things, but I can tell you right now, the way that pundits spin how senators come to their decisions is deceptive. Yes, it's the whole 'I was for it before I was against it' thing that sank Kerry. But there isn't much that Hillary has flipped on. I think it's unfair to say that politicians can't have subtle changes of heart or mind on issues. They are only human after all. But my point on Hillary is that her positions have not radically flipped.
As for Obama, he's a whole lot of talk right now. I think in 10 to 15 years, he'll be great. Seasoned enough with some good experience under his belt. But if you listen closely, he never talks about what his plans mean or do. There's all style and no substance.
I think that in life, people tend to label strong women as you know whats, b/c they stand up for what they believe in. That's unfortunate.
We need a work horse to clean up the mess that 8 years of this administration has created, not a show horse.

Definitely don't want to get me started. If those are the options left to Democratic voters, then they are in trouble. And you would think they learned something from running John Kerry, or as I affectionately knew him 'Mr. Flip Flop', they would have made sure to run someone that people would actually vote for. I will lay it out in my opinion in just a few words: Hillary is liquid evil (and her plans will get us NO WHERE fast...we need HMO reforms, not socialized medicine!) and Obama-we are now in the election year. What is his opinion on things? Change is not an opinion. I watched the democratic primary and I would love to know. Hmm...
Not that I would vote Democrat anyway, but JMO (Don't worry, the Republicans also are not running anyone I would actually want to vote for, but I will stick with my guys)
