Hi guys, I want to keep my maiden name for professional purposes. I know there are a few teachers who did it, but I'm confused about paperwork-do I change my paychecks to my married name, 403b, and other paperwork with the school district? Thanks for any advice!

If you are going to change your name at your bank you will have to. My bank wouldn't let me cash my check because it had my old name PITA. So I would def change it for your checks.

I changed mine at work because it was easier than having 2 different names (it felt like 2 different identities lol). I know that your name has to be the same on your paycheck, 403B, and TRS.
I actually went through a whole thing where I wanted to hyphenate my name but it became a whole big paperwork drama and there were too many syllables anyway so I dropped the idea lol.

i go by maiden at work.. but all official documents have my new name.. emails correspondence, intro and stuff with old name..
