Keeping the brds moving. got a raising kids question

So, ive just been thinking about expenses a lot lately and hopefully well start looking to buy a house this winter and close by june.

i want to make sure to budget in for having kids.

i know im thinking very long term but i have to be realistic and if we both just get steady increases in pay but nothing crazy and it just goes up with cost of living than we need to leave room in our budget for the monthly cost of having a child.

now i once heard such smart advice which was 'youll never really have enough money to have kids' which i totally get like...you can be a millionaire and kids can just run up bills like any adult can so point is, just be smart about money...dont be broke...be able to support them but dont wait around for billions of dollers before having kids or you wont get there


but lets say on average, how much would you guys say it costs per month when you first have a baby and then a little later when they are kids??

i heard not to long ago that they say it costs 300G a year for one child in NY. OMG! Im hoping thats a lot overstated. But it does kinda make sense with how much diapers formula etc costs today.

wait a minute, $300,000. are you effin serious. lololol. i just have to laugh. me and dh together make WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY less than this hahahahahahahahah

yeah im really hoping thats overstated. hehehe


my friend who just had a baby a year ago said it generally ran around 300-400 on average so i wanted to see other opinions/experiences out there
