We don't have a dog, but I'd love one. But from what I've seen, I think it's easier to have kids first, then introduce the dog, so he knows they're his master. Any thoughts?

hopefully we will get a puppy first.. so it'll probably be pups then kids..
most of my family/friends have done this and haven't had an issue

we're probably getting a dog this summer, but not planning on kids for another 4 or 5 years, so dog first.

my friend has 2 dogs...a Rottweiler & a shepherd mix...and a 5 yr old and one year old....the dogs did fine with the kids...HTH!

i have an un trainable dog and i love her more than anything..but she is LITERALLY RUINING OUR LIFE!!!
at least kids can be taken in stores..resturaunts and places liek that cause they are people./.we can not leave our dog home alone..so if we have ANYTHING to do after the hours of daycare ( she goes to doggie day care) we can not go together because someone has to stay home with the dong but i loooooove her too much to get rid of her

We have our cats already so it will be cats then kids but they're good. Simon is a monster but he's afraid of his own shadow and never bites or claws so don't worry about hi. He'd be hiding from the kids. Zoe is just adaptable. She doesn't get fazed by anything or anyone-was a stray we got from the streets at 2 years old.

we got our puppy last year... now we have a baby on the way!!
we got to see how to train a puppy first, and learn with that... now on comes the real thing!

Pets first. We already have a cat, we've had her for 3 years and we plan to get a dog before the babies come.

Maybe she has separation anxiety. They have some good doggie meds out for that now. Good luck with her.
I got a dog first. I figured if I could handle the dog I could handle a baby. I have to admit the baby is easier.
