Kinda odd question but...

Kinda odd question but...

DEoes anyone know if eating desert before bed really gives you nightmares?

I have heard that it can but never put merit into it. But lately I ahve been doing both; eating desert then getting nightmares.

Last night I had a horrific night-long one of the makes you want to puke variety and I wonder if the chocolate mousse cake did me in. Def a motivation to get back on my diet.

I'm not sure if dessert does but my mom always said that if you have a big meal before bed that can give you nightmares.

Are you falling asleep with the TV on? Sometimes that can do it.

To be honest, I have never heard of that, but I do know that if I watch something that is scary before going to sleep I will have a nightmare.

No not that I know of. I know leaving the TV on or if you watched a scary movie lately that might do it. But never heard of a dessert doing that.

Yea I thought it sounded fishy. A firend of my mom's said high doses of sugar can do it right before bedtime.

Honestly I rarely watch TV so thats definetly not the culprit but maybe the spicey food did it. we had taco pizza for dinner. Yummy but hard on the tum tum.

WOW...this explains ALOT! On a normal day I never usually eat late at night but on our honeymoon we ate about 99% of the day and night lol and I had bad dreams almost every night...I even felt guilty about it. I was like I just got married and am in a beautiful place with my DH I know I'm happy so why the bad dreams I'm going to look into this a little more!

I think eating in general before bed can give you nightmares, or at the very least interrupt your sleep in someway with vivid dreams, digestion issues messing with your deep sleep cycles, etc. I don't think it's specifically dessert though, but I'm also not a doctor so I could totally be making that up.

Oh these were vivid all right...sick as fawk too. I won't get into it but suffice it to say it could have made a great suspense thriller with very sick parts. I don't know WHERE the hell that stuff came from but def vivid and the worse part was I kept dreaming that i woke up. But then it was just more nighmare and when I finally did wake up for real I was shaking and it took me forever to get back to sleep.I kept pinching myself.

My eating habits changed too-maybe thats it I used to eat large lunches and snacks when i hit the gym everyday then light dinners. Now I m doing lighter lunches and medium dinners. I might need to switch again.
