Marie, it is totally understandable that you feel that way. After all it is the first place that you & Brian lived as husband and wife. You guys are about to start an exciting new chapter in your lives. NC is great place to live. What part of North Carolina are you moving to? My uncle lives in Wilmington and keeps trying to get us to move down there. If you aren't far from him we can always get together when we go visit my uncle.

NC is SOOO beautiful. We're going there this summer for a family reunion. I can't wait to spend a full 8 days there... Heaven


Its going to be really difficult to leave, but once you get down there its going to be easier. It wont be perfect from the minute you get there.. you know that, but in time- it will get better

Then maybe everyone can make an LIW trip out of it. who knows?

We're moving everything down on Feb 19th but won't actually be moving till this summer!! Our lease is up so we're getting everyhting out of here and into our house down there, but then we'll be staying at my parents till August!

very cool. I'm waiting for something to finally happen with our house situation. So annoying.

Enjoy every minute of it! You guys are going to have a ball... very jealous

Totally normal to be sad.....but think of how much happier you'll be once you are there.

AW, it's your first home as a married couple. It'll be good, just think, when you do move, it'll be WAY LESS stuff to pack later!

Aww Marie! I know how that feels-it is like an end of an era. I remember feeling like that when I moved from Manhattan, and even when I moved from our old place to our new one. But it is a new beginning, and as a selfish biotch, I wish you could stay here because I will miss the hell out of you! You and Brian can move in with us if Peg does not have the space...we would have a blast!!!


But, it is for the best for you because you will have a better life and I know you will adjust and love it. But most importantly, you will have a guest room when Jeff and I visit!!! And we will visit, promise!!!!

I you and want the best for you....and I promise again we will be down there!!!

And you always have a place to stay here!

Yeah, right? But your torture from me is the 7:30 AM phone list. You are #1 on this list now. This alone might make you reconsider moving!!!

And yes, we will spoon! ....and we are actually talking about a small 'roadtrip' sometime after Labor Day! Trust me, what else am I going to use my miles on!!!!

Aww, Marie, that's totally understandable. No matter how you feel about the place, it's still where you created your first memories as husband & wife. But you're on to bigger & better things & the memories are not in the place-they're in your heart.

My whole family is going to end up there! My sister will be there this spring, my parents already bought land so their house should be built in a year and my brother and his soon to be PITA wife will be there some time in the next few years!!

Plus we plan on opening our own business there

the packing and moving must be hard -- you have so many memories here, change is hard but it'll be so good for you!! good things will come your way in NC LI is so tough for young people -- if we could move we move but DH works for the state and has 10+ years invested and doesn't want to leave his job.
