Kiss Cookies

So I just made DH cookies using a cookie recipe from Hershey. When all is said and done they are supposed to be little round balls that when you bite into them you get a perfect Hershey kiss in the center.

Problem 1: they break, out of the 3 dozen only about 2 dozen made it.
Problem 2: they don't stay round, so unless you put the kiss facing the right way on the sheet, which would be nearly impossible to do because you have rolled it into a dough ball, the kiss won't look like a kiss.

So I made these cookies, gave them to DH, and he ate the whole cookie in one piece, didn't even bite into it to see the kiss.

Re: Kiss Cookies

Those sound really good! I wonder if there's a way for me to make something like that dairy free... probably not since hershey kisses aren't dairy free... maybe I'll just make DH chocolate chip cookies for vday. I have the double chocolate chip cookies recipe right next to the computer where I copied it down a few months ago...

Probably not, I think you need Hershey Kisses because they don't melt inside the cookie. Which makes you wonder about the chocolate doesn't it?

They actually make a 'meltables' version of the hershey kisses now that are wonderful! I used them for the top of the peanut butter cookies I made around Christmas and they were great because you could easily bite through them, but they held their shapes pretty well.

Re: Kiss Cookies

I make these at Christmas - they're a pain in the butt but I think they're so cute that it's worth the trouble!

Re: Kiss Cookies

I ve made 2 differ kinds with the kisses. the key to them not breaking and staying pretty much round is by rolling the dough alittle and putting it around the kiss
