Kitchen Aid mixer question

ok for those of you who use the mixer, when you mix cake mix with the wire whisk, do you find the powder on the bottom of the bowl is not mixed in well? Is there a way to fix this problem or am I doing something wrong?

with every mixer, you have to stop it periodically and scrape down the sides and bottom with a rubber spatula to make sure everything is homogenous....

be careful to not overmix any cake batter once the flour is added... it will make the cake tough (due to gluten formation)... just mix a little, stop and scrape, and mix a little more and stop....

yes do this.. the wire wisk is really for making things real fluffy.

I think all Kitchen Aids do this.. I know mine does... no worries not doing anything wrong.

yep. i only use the whisk for whipped cream, meringues, etc. fh attempted to use the whisk to make cookies and bent it all out of shape. I use the flat beater for most everything else. usually, like portjeffbride said above, i will stop in the middle of mixing and scrape down the bowl. but at the end, i'll use a rubber spatula and fold over the mixture and get down into the bumpy ridge in the middle of the bottom of the bowl.

in addition to the other suggestions - look at the instruction manual they tell you how to adjust the height of the top part. . . i had to experiment a few times but now its at the perfect height so what is left on the bottom is minimal
