Ladies - I need bail money. UPDATE on pg 2

I am going to kill 2 people

you know how I was saying that Joey has been living at my house & making me crazy? Well, now it has gone TOO FAR. DH decided that he is Joey’s “headhunter” and that he is going to help get Joey a job. Hmmm... what could possibly go wrong?

Joey was a general manager at a car dealership. So my GENIUS HUSBAND has decided that the best person to help them find Joey a job is...... MY EXBOYFRIEND. (My ex does not work in that industry at all, it should be noted.)

DH had me forward Joey’s resume to my ex because my ex is friends with someone who owns a car dealership. I sent it weeks ago after protesting several times and saying how uncomfortable I was with it. Then DH asked me call & follow up. I called & told the ex “I’m so sorry, DH asked me to forward it, etc…” he said “I can’t do anything; call so & so & use my name. He’s the guy you want.” I told DH & Joey this. Then he asked me to send the ex an EMAIL and ask him if he handed over the resume. I said no, I am not calling or emailing again. It looks like I only call him when I need something & that’s not cool.” DH asked for the ex’s email address. Um, no. Stop it. Do not stalk the man. He’s my ex and he’s done enough for us. He gave us $1000 wedding gift. He gave us tickets to Andrea Bocelli. He gave us tickets to a comedy show. STOP IT. Its too much now. You are not allowed to ask him for anything else.... ever!

Now I get a text from DH saying “Joey & I are in Boston, call Bill (the ex) and see if he wants to meet for coffee. I want him to meet Joey & help him out.”

Um, are you f*cking retarded?

#1 – my ex doesn’t like you. Not even a little. He has told me so. He thinks you are all wrong for me & he thinks you are immature.
#2 – It’s INAPPROPRIATE for you to hang out with him, especially without me, or to contact him. He’s not your friend. In fact, see #1 above.
#3 – my ex does not owe YOU anything, including favors. Stop harassing him.
#4 – my ex is in Chicago visiting his daughter. I just spoke to him on Easter when YOU MADE ME CALL HIM. Again!
#5 - he already said he can't do anything & to call So & so.
#6 - WHY aren’t you at work?!?!?!??!

W T FFFFF Is WRONG with my husband? It’s like he has no filter for what is appropriate!!!!!!

******OH OH OH*****
REMEMBER WHEN DH SOLD MY WATCH????? It was the watch from THIS ex!!! And this ex KNOWS DH sold it, yet another reason why he hates him.

I am really going to kill them both (Joey & DH). Its enough now. Stop it!!!

I was just going to ask if this was THAT Ex....

Caroline...don't know what to tell you honey. I mean it seems your DH really wnats to help his friend which is noble but he's being kinda a douche about it especially being HE Doesnt like your ex either since he sold your watch from him.

If this continues, this migth cause really bad blood between you and your ex..>I would call yor ex and explain the situation to him and just tell him that you are going to handle it and apologize in advance should your husband contact him by some miracle. Work pre-emptive damage control.

THEN sit your husband down and tell him everythign you told us and just flat out refuse to talk to your ex for his sake again and he insists, CONTINUE to refuse. I myself would probably be a b*tch and tell the friend myself that its inapprorpate to be asking favors from a man who already said he cannot help and who is a part fo ypur past and you're uncomfortable doing so. I would ask him to please tell DH to back off you because its making your life uncomfortable and its unfair.

Any ADULT would understand and respect this... Good luck!

My dear, you have earned your halo.

You have gone above and beyond anything a wife should do for her husband.
But, I draw the line at Joey.

You did not marry Joey, maybe your husband should have ?
I agree with you not contacting with your ex anymore about Joey. You did your part, but the hounding is not a good thing. Let the schmuck make his own connections.

Oy.

Hey...if they are in Boston...at least they won't be hanging out in your house when you get home!!

hmm. maybe im reading this all wrong caroline, but it sounds like maybe more than just DH wanting to help his friend...why so much preoccupation with your ex???

...maybe he wants to be in touch with your ex for some other reason? maybe its curiosity or jealousy or trying to keep 'his enemy closer.' i dunno!!! definitely not the healthiest thing for anyone involved. boundaries are always a good thing!!

my DH is VERY 'impressed' with my ex. My ex is extremely smart & ridiculously successful. He works in the entertainment industry & knows famous people, etc....its a glamorous life & I think DH is jealous. Or DH has a man crush on him or something. When my ex bought a new home, DH said to me one day 'call us Bill. See what he's up today. Let's go visit. I want to see his new house.' Why? We live in a 2 bedroom apt. t. My ex's house is 13,000 sq ft. with a bowling alley & a nightclub. Why go there? It's awkward. And um, excuse me, but I LEFT HIM & met DH. AWKWARD!!!!

Re: Ladies - I need bail money.

Caroline, you've got to put your foot down on this one. If Joey is on your couch again tonight, I suggest you have a talk with DH sometime in the near future and spell out everything as you have done with us. Your frustration won't end until the issue is resolved.

Can you and Ella stay with someone for a couple of days, this to give you some breathing space and some time to cool off so that you won't say anything in haste or in anger ?

I hate to suggest it, but perhaps your DH has to choose between being your husband and Ella's father, or all around personal assistant to Joey.

Caroline, I don't even know what to say; I feel so bad for you that you have to deal with all of this. I definitely agree-this obsession with getting your ex to help has got to end. And as for Joey being on the couch tonight, I will start taking up collection for your bail money asap!!

Re: Ladies - I need bail money.

i wonder if DH feels insecure or thinks you must wish he was more like your ex or something. maybe he needs some extra loves and reassurance?

...then again, what do i know?!

Re: Ladies - I need bail money.

Sorry to hear this is happening to you

Your DH needs to understand that an ex is just that an EX!!!!!!!! It's great you and your ex are on such good terms but that is not an open door to be abused by your DH, or Joey. I worry because it seems like Joey's unemployment situation is interferring with your everyday life as well as your marriage. The fact that your DH has completely disregarded your comfort level with your ex, ignored your wishes and wants, and continues to allow Joey in your home is disrespectful and upsetting. My suggestion is to make reservations for dinner to enjoy the downtime you've been missing (because of Joey) and take advantage to address your issues (inappropriate ex interactions, and the extended welcome of a guest named Joey). Sending you more of these
